Got this guy today, way more impressive than my Classics Megatron Gun Modes: Robot Modes: Yes my classics Megatron has the orange fade on the gun cap, personally the more it fades the happier I am with it as the orange was way too bright to begin with. I wish the orange on the scope would fade as well to match it. With Classics Prime (I am tempted to hunt down the Henkei version of Prime now): With WFC Megatron and Universe 3 pack Galvatron: Overall I'm happy with the purchase, especially since they finally painted the black monobrow white and am glad I skipped Henkei Megatron for this guy.
I'm looking for an excuse to buy this. I have Henkei Megatron, but I find the subtle paint apps on this guy far more tasteful. I'd probably be more enthusiastic about hunting this guy down if the mold were just a little better; the ratcheting joints in his hips are not standing-friendly. Henkei Prime, on the other hand, is absolutely worth having.
I'll be getting this version for the same reason, he looks way better than the Henkei version, I'm glad I held off.
I like Henkei's colour highlights better, but like that this version axes the horrible chrome chest, and stops calling attention to the horribly sculpted sigils on the fusion cannon. And I like the more even silver, rather than the piecemeal approach of the Henkei deco. Why the hell am I about to own all three versions of this mold? It's not even that good...
I have the Classics and Henkei version of this guy, and I probably would've held out if I knew they were going to do this (don't like chrome). On the other hand, I like the Henkei figure has a bit more paint apps on it, as this one seems a bit plain. And the chrome on it at least isn't placed oddly. Also, don't care for the white face of the United one, it seems a bit out of place. I would've rather kept it silver. It really is a nice, but at this moment, no need for me to get it. Maybe on clearance.
I've got this on pre order. I already have the Henkei release but the chrome chest causes problems with my stopmotion series. Plus I simply prefer the look of this version.
If I owned neither, I would buy United. But since I already have Henkei Megs, there is no need to get this one, nice as it is.
I really like the flat black paint on this guy I have the Henkei already so this guy is on my waiting list. First I have to get Tracks, Jazz, Grapple, Kup and Scourge in United then any extra cash this guy.
The more pics I see of this guy the more I like the Henkei one better. Oh well thats one less expense.
I have the Henkei, but based on the pics alone, I think I do prefer the United. I dunno. I kinda keep going back and forth. Not sure if I'll go through the trouble of swapping them out, but I do think the United is a good looking figure.
I only have the classics version and he's in terrible shape. I'm in the market for a United or Henkei, whichever I find cheapest when I have the money set aside for him.
Feels a bit plain compared to the Henkei one. I'm especially put off by the lack of paint on the big Decepticon symbol on the cannon - I know this is meant to be "G1 accurate" colours and all, but the symbol's molded there so not painting it makes little sense to me. Still looks good don't get me wrong, it is as they say "a good job, but half done". A few extra bits of red to break up the silver a little more would have really made that design work in my eyes.
I personally like the fact that it's not painted. Anything to draw attention away from that horribly sculpted Decepticon sigil. Take a close look at it again. The eyes are huge, and much lower than they should be.
