Has anyone modded Prime's hips? I'm thinking of doing a bit of carving to give him a wider range of hip articulation, but I can't decided if it would be better to carve away at his pelvis area or the thighs.

I can live with the lack of knees, but it always drives me a little nuts when a figure has ball socket hips that are too hindered to move (such as RobotMasters Star Saber).

At first as I was going to say hips, but upon closer inspection there is a pin going through the pelvis that is pretty close to where you would have to carve. I think you will have to go legs on this mod, but that means you will have to paint too.

I agree about the knees, I wish more legends had them.

Yeah, both options seem iffy. My only qualm with carving away at the legs is that I'd be worried about making the plastic too thin around the sockets, which could lead to cracking. If I can ever track down a second Prime I'll dive right in and see what happens. For now, at least he can "sit" by bending that waist hinge. Not the most practical for posing, but it's something.

I don't have a problem with limited hips so much as I have a problem with them being so limited he can't stand straight without his toes pointing inward.

Still a fun toy, but that's really starting to get at me. And yes, more knees in legends, please.

Good point man. Perhaps you could take a little off of both the legs and pelvis.

I just got this guy. How difficult is it to bend his waist? I am having a tough time. I don't want to break the figure yet the waist piece doesn't want to budge. Am I missing something?

It does kinda snap in there. It's a very firm hinge.

If anyone is still thinking of modding the hips, this is what I did the day I got Prime. First, there's a little tab on the bar with the ball that I shaved off. Second, I shaved plastic from above the hip section on the body, not the leg. This gave him a fair bit more leg movement, but if you really want to get good movement going on, I think you'll have to shave the tops of his thighs down a bit as well.

Thanks for the tip. I've got an extra one of these so I think I'll throw him under the knife.
