If this was already posted please just merge it with the pre-existing thread as I can't seem to find one. Anyway, moving on... Apologies in advance for some of the quality of the photos. So I managed to score me a Shadow Blade Sideswipe (HA Sideswipe repaint) from my local Walmart and took loads of photos. I really dig the paint scheme and the transparent purple windows. I love everything about the Corvette Mode. It's so beautifully detailed. It's a very nice unintentional homage to G2 Sideswipe. If you look at the photos below you can barely tell it's a transformer when in Vehicle mode. Now, onto the Robot Mode. The first thing I noticed I wasn't happy with right off the bat aside from the gigantic backpack is his eyes, (THEY ARE PAINTED BLACK WTF HASBRO?) I had the take the head apart and soak the back piece partially (only submerging the painted eye parts). Anyway, so I used some rubbing alcohol and a Q-Tip and Napkin to get the paint off and now Light can shine through the eyes as originally intended. So anyway, there's not really much to go into about the overall bot mode since it's exactly the same as HA Sideswipe. Although one thing I really do like is the Arm Blades. I really love the painted details. I wish they could have done without that Hidious All-Spark Blue on the legs though. So I think all-n-all the toy is awesome, and with a little tweaking the large backpack can be condensed in size just enough so it doesn't look so Blugh. (not shown in photos sorry guys) Ah yes..., I almost forgot about Mikaela Baines. She's not only a remold but also has a different paint scheme from the first one and her hair is pulled back into a ponytail. Now, on to the photos.
He's for sure gonna stay in Vette Mode, It's just too Gorgous. I agree that the bot mode is pretty Meh. but at least Mikeala has a sister now lol
His blades look really nice painted. Wish they had looked like that on the original HA Sideswipe instead of that dull grey.
They should have made Human Alliance Swerve instead of this piece. Maybe the bot mode would have been all the same color. I just don't understand why they didn't make him all black. It would have been a 1000% cooler.
dont really care for the silver stripes on the car mode...and with a little customizing to the bot mode, that has potential to be an awesome repaint
I have the silver version and its ok. I do like the black with the purple glass windows but all that being said the back kibble and his feet are huge draw backs. Think Im one and done with this mold.
I managed to score this bot today (Ironic.....I can't find Generations Dirge) He is much better in person than he is in pics. I do disagree with some of Hasbro's choices in plastic colors, however they are overlookable.
Alt mode looks awesome but that robot mode looks really bad. I wish they'd given him a new head, made him a Decepticon, and given him better paint apps in robot mode. Then Barricade could have an HA ally and I'd have a reason to buy this.
I very much like it and will probably get it since Sideswipe is the only HA figure I don't have. Still not sure how I feel about the HA price tag on it, though. If it was Voyager priced I'd snap it up as soon as possible. These pictures really make the best and worst aspects of the colors stand out to me.
Upper legs and lower arms should have been black. Then if they made the head silver too, I bet it would have looked pretty damn good in robot mode.
