I didn't see a thread for this guy started in the non-video section so here it is.

Since he's a repaint of Lockdown I'll keep this brief. In general he's a very cool repaint. The color scheme is a lot darker in person than it appears in most of the pictures that I've seen. Much more gray than white and honestly I'm not sure which I think would look better.

Axors vehicle mode is repainted simply but features some nice painted detail that Lockdown didn't have such as the slatted side windows and particularly the engine block. He's a definitely more boring in this mode than Lockdown is due to the largeness of the vehicle creating a lot of flat unpainted gray area. On the other hand the plainness also gives it a little big sleeker vibe.

In robot form Axor has a brand new head sculpt and a brand new weapon arm in the form of an axe (duh) rather than the hook that Lockdown had. I can't stress this enough; the head sculpt looks really really cool. This is an awesome movie styled rendition of the original actionmaster Axer figures head and it looks seriously evil what with him having glowing red compound eyes and tiny red devil horns. I love how triangular it is as well. He retains Lockdowns very interesting blended three-piece neck as well which lends some awesome style and articulation. That said, looking at this figure as a whole the head does look a little... big. Actually, his head is downright disproportionate in my opinion but considering how strange his proportions are anyway I can live with it. The axe weapon is a nice touch and I appreciate that it has a nice silver gradient along its front edge even though it is the same very pliable rubber-like material as Lockdowns' hook. For me the one downside to the axe weapon is that, compared to the shape of his forearm, the axe kind of angles downward despite the maximum range of the wrist articulation. I do kind of which the axe were a little longer so it made for a more convincing weapon and so that the "wings" of the axe cleared his arm completely. The color scheme here is nicely broken up with dark blue, he's very slick looking.

My general comment for this figure is that he has VERY loose joints. Interestingly enough the Red Alert figure I bought with him from ToysRUs.com also has extremely loose joints. Another bummer is that the engine weapon absolutely does not stay attached in either mode. Either the peg on the engine is too small or the holes on his arm and hood are too big. Curious if anyone else is having this issue.

Sorry there are no pics right now. I'll try to add some later if nobody else beats me to it.

I may get this guy just to swap his painted engine with Lockdown's play gray engine.

I bought Axor thinking I'd team him up with my Lockdown but now the engine swap is the only thing making me consider opening Axor.

Thanks for the pics. I like this sculpt better in these colors. Never found Lockdown so hopefully I can track down one of these.

Aweful lack of paint, but a decent figure. Only reason I bought this was because I was a fan of the mold and I like the head sculpt too.

I like Axor quite a bit. Certainly more than I thought I would. His head/body ratio is lot closer to human than it usually is for transformers figures. My only actual complaint is that his head is so swollen, I have trouble getting everything to fit flush in alt mode.

All that grey makes him look kinda like a knock-off, especially in alt mode.

I think he looks closer to movieverse than Lockdown, but still seems to look a bit cartoony. Lockdown's grown a lot on me, though, so maybe I'll get this as well. Does he display well with Sideways and Barricade?

Having owned him for a few days now I still really like him and I'm glad I bought him but I will say that my enthusiasm has cooled a bit. While I do overall like the cleaner look of the vehicle mode I definitely feel like he needs more paint apps and I think he'd have looked better in white or a least a much lighter shade of gray. I wonder if anyone will tackle that as a custom. Similarly I almost think that, with the cleaner look of the deco, I wonder how he'd look if he were "De-Mad Max'ified" into a straight up muscle car.

As for display purposes I think he looks good with the other cons if a little out of place. This mold does for me what almost all of the Animated molds did; it oozes personality. Other movie figures have varied in that department I think so to me Lockdown and Axor look a little bit strange next to some of the cons like Barricade but are pretty inline with say, Bludgeon or Banzaitron.

So he mixes well with the movieline figures which didn't actually come from the movie, but not so much with the real movie figures then. Maybe he'll fit better on the Classics side then.

I just picked this guy up last night. I like the mold, and the repaint has a new head, so I double dipped. I like him more than I thought I would. The new head and colors do a lot to differentiate him from Lockdown. Until you have him in hand and transformed, it really doesn't hit you how big that head actually is. I like it though, it's a very well done head sculpt. Also, I didn't seem to be having as much trouble with the balljoints as I did on lockdown-but that may be due to me being familiar with mold and how to transform it without the arms falling off.

I don't think I will be getting him, I'm satisfied enough with Lockdown to own just one of the mold.

Its strange, I had no trouble getting Blurr who is a great repaint of a great toy, but I can't seem to get excited for Axor who also is a repaint of a great toy. Maybe I know more about Blurr than Axor. Or maybe I'm just a sucker for blue cars....

The bigger head on Axor seems to suit the mold well. It doesn't seem out of proportion.

But, darn it, I'm supposed to like black/green on a Decepticon rather than grey/blue, aren't I?

Very frustrating that his engine block doesn't fit into his arm!

I love this toy; RotF Lockdown is my favorite movie toy mold, and Axer was a character/toy I really liked as a kid (he was one of two Action Masters I owned). I'm very pleased with this homage.

I wonder if I'll have a hard time selling him with Lockdown's old engine block. I'm not going to try to con anyone into buying it by not telling anyone about it.
