Not much to review here other than what's new...

-new weapon (staff - all rubber except the middle section)
-new hands (plastic palms & thumbs/pinkies with rubber fingers) that are hinged the middle and specially designed to hold the staff (something the original mold can't do), something they do solidly
-new hinged & balljointed head with removeable mask (that looks, well, like the original Fallen head, just slightly more detailed)
-grooves added to the upper torso behind the head to store the staff in cybertronian jet mode
-new deco that is a mix of dark purple, teal, Allspark blue and silver
-Decepticon logo on the left knee

Looks pretty rad. With the added gimmicks, I feel this boring mold is now a bit more exciting. I'd like to think it's a Prime and not The Fallen. Am I wrong to do that?

Thanks. That looks so much better than the flipper things the original has.

Like all the new additions but this color scheme is so unnecessary. Why is that Hasbro downright refuses to do him in movie accurate colors? Only the Legends class has the gunmetal gray.

Totally agreed, if this was colored liked the Legends class I'd probably buy it, but as it is...I'm thinking I'll pass.

Plus this mold is in dire need of ball jointed hips and ankles.

Btw, slightly related to this character... How come in the movie there were only a certain number of Primes (including the Fallen), yet when The Fallen ends up on Earth, there's quite a bunch of "bad" Primes attacking the humans with him? Doesn't that mean that all early Transformers looked the same, including the Primes?

Based on the differences alone, I might have to pick this up but probably only when it's on sale.

The character models are completely different. Those are just generic decepticons that hadnt scanned earth modes.

That's the way to do a repaint. Had no interest in the previous version of this mold, but those colors and the additional changes make this a buy.

I'll prolly get this one. The changes make it worth buying doubles, and I actually kinda dig the new color layout.

Why does it remind you of the purple, red, and white elderly Autobot with the beard? Uh.... no clue.

Review: HFTD Voyager Class The Fallen (The Purple-One)

    Prelude:

I should mention that, as of right now, no one really knows if this figure here is going to come with some kind of fancy new name. I should also mention that I originally bought him in order to canibalize him (hands, head, the staff...) - but I won't do that now.

    Alternate Mode:

The Fallen still transforms into the alien dreadnought-type space craft he used to, but now he carries Lugnut-colors, very cool! This alternate mode doesn't have any gimmicks or such and I've yet to find a place to stash his staff, but I'll keep looking.

    Robot Mode:

Here I must admit one thing: Hasbro, if you take your time to do something right, you really do it right - WOW!

The new head is a 100 percent match for the one seen in the movie and doesn't spare the details. Also, you can take off the mask, revealing the tormented visage of the Fallen after he enjoyed Optimus Prime's special face peeling technique. Additionally this new Fallen finally has proper, posable hands, able to grasp and hold his new war staff.

Did I mention that the head is fully posable? No? He is! The poses are the bomb, so I will not subject Lugnut... eh, I mean, the Fallen to the custom builder's death.

Friggin sweet. He'll get bought now, tho I may hold out hoping for a more screen accurate paint scheme.

Need to get rid of the Decepticon insignia, then it'll be in my movie line as one of the Primes.
