    PCC Mudslinger and Destructicons.

From Wave 2 of the 5 packs comes the first set with a central bot in the form of Mudslinger who appears to be on par size wise with the regular PCC 2 Packs. He puts you in the mind of Dirtboss from Cybertron and is a solid little figure, the transformation is somewhat fiddly with the arms having so much articulation that you find yourself constantly twiting and turning them to get it into a suitable position that isnt hampered by the giant shoulder wheels. His head is disguised as the engine block and pops up smoothly and the legs are the now standard PCC double joints which fold in on themselves for scout mode and then again for combiner mode.

Combiner mode is okay, it reminds me of something from the cartoon Megas XLR rather than transformers though :)  - the drones cliip on tighly and do not suffer the problems some others are in that they fall off easily, Mudslingers one downfall is that he is rather slim in combined mode and can fold up on himself if the action pose is complicated.

The vehicle modes are again nice, the drones resemble something from Mad Max with the red jeep being a slight retool of the Swindle type jeep from the Comabticons set.

Overall 6/10 one for the kids more than the collectors :)

The leg drones look great. I'm not too wild about the scout though.

Thanks for the review. I want to see the rally bots now. D:

I think it looks pretty cool, aside from the things sticking out the sides of the combiner head. Hopefully the Drones are a little more solid than the ones that come with Skyburst and Bombshock.

I fully agree. I just don't like any of these Powercore Combiner molds at all. They just don't seem to fit. Too goofy looking and horrible in combined modes. I don't know. At least we have the Generations line.

not only does he suck as bad as, he looks very much like a giant ROTF Wheelie. these power core combiners are definently a line i am skipping altogether. they look to power rangerish, yet those were actually executed much better. these toys are made so simple and stupid they are not worth the price, because the fun factor just isnt there.

hmmm i cant respect it when it has been proven 70% of all transformers sales these days are for adults by adults. it is mainly a collectors toy. and even if it is a line for kids, dont they deserve some quality too? or is hasbro saying our kids are ******ed? cause they sure seem like it

Based on the pictures, I was very excited about this line, and now that I have the first wave in hand, I'm IN LOVE.

For the folks who think they "suck."-

A: You're entitled to your opinion, save your cash for Generations, and no one will fault you :0

    BUT

B: Keep an open mind. DON'T think of these as "Combiner teams" in the G1 sense. hasbro was very explicit about the fact these guys are NOT meant to represent Bruticus, Superion, and company. Notice those names don't appear on the boxes either.

Think of this as a "Scouts packing heat" line. I think many of us can agree that for the last year or more the "Scout" class has been filled with really fun molds. This is an all-scout line that continues that tradition. Ignoring the PCC gimmicks, drones, and mini-cons entirely, the 'Commanders' (Scout figures) are all pretty cool, some of them are GREAT.

The Minicons, and the Drones are just gravy on the cake, in fiction you can think of it as the "little guys" developing some new tech to keep from getting pounded on the battlefield, which I think makes perfect sense. Drones have been around since 1984 with Roller, I'm actually GLAD to see a line with a few more, and with them doing some new things.

And this new wave is looking even better than the first!

Proven? By who? How? Where? Hasbro still feels their primary Demo is 70-85% kids last I heard, and I'm sure their market analytics are on target. I KNOW I see 4-5 kids/parents snagging toys off the shelf for every adult-collector in the stores.

And I agree, this oe may not be for the majority of the adult fanbase, but it's just OOZING kid-fun. Especially those kids that thought ROTF Devestator was cool. The PCC gang will play very well with Legends Devestator.

I must confess that I'm a tad disappointed in the combined mode. I like the Power Core Combiners quite a bit. Bombshock and his Combaticon drones are very nice indeed. The moulded weapons that pop out when you clip the drone-limbs in were a nice surprise. That said, I shall reserve my final judgement until I look at a few more pictures.

Thanks, Red Leader, for the pics. Even if they have made me go from a sure-fire get to a maybe on Mudslinger.
