Disney.Pixar Label Buzz Lightyear Spaceship Review

    "To infinity, and beyond!"

Fresh off Toy Story 3 (Amazing movie btw), Disney.Pixar Label Buzz Lightyear is here. I was really surprised when I found out a local toy shop had it in stock and it was the last one when I made the purchase. This is my first Disney Label Transformers and probably the only one, unless they made Woody or something unexpected.

Buzz Lightyear is well...Buzz. He looks fairly accurate to his movie appearance, but with some spaceship backpack for the transformation. He is scout size, which is pretty small for his price. Articulation is weak. His left and right legs are linked and you must move both or risk breaking them. There is only some moderate joints for the arms. You can open and close the visor. Like the two Disney transformers before him, Buzz is more like a display piece and not very poseable. I like him though. Very Buzz Lightyear. He's a Transformer and can pass as a normal Buzz figure, what's there not to like? :thumbs2:

    Transformation

Disney Label line is for kids, so the transformation is pretty straight forward and simple. But I thought it was quite fun. The main gimmick for the transformation is the headmaster, or Head-On system. Buzz's head is a headmaster. No transformation involved, unless u include turn it around as one. There's a automorph gimmick. By inserting the head onto the main body, Buzz's lower body will pop down, same goes with the wings, which extend. And the space ranger emblem will reveal itself too. Unfortunately, the head doesn't click onto the main body and instead is hold into place by the visor parts. Sometimes it will pop off. Minor annoyance.

It's the box which Buzz is kept in, just like the movie. It can roll well and looks fairly accurate as the screen counterpart. The cockpit can be opened and the mini Buzz inserted into it to pilot the thing. Neat alternate mode. I'm tempted to buy another Buzz to display both in both modes.

So is it worth to get this? I would recommend this to any Toy Story and Transformers fans, but that depends if you can justify the price for a scout size figure. I think it's quite a fun figure to play with and well worth the money!

Just received mine. Just as small as the other 2 but a great toy for people who like their TFs a little "unique".

Wow that transformation looks really simple when compared to Donald.

After the amount of scrartches that Hyena's Donald got from being transformed once, that's a very good thing indeed.
Buzz is just... fun. He's a great likeness, and not too complicated. If you can pick him up cheap enough, I do reccommend him a lot.

Someone needs to take a pic of him with Botcon Rapido. If he wasn't so expensive I'd pick up Buzz, maybe if I see him in person at a con or something.

I absolutely ADORE my Buzz. I could sit and fiddle with him all day. He really is oddly fun to transform. There's a sense of satisfaction you get with the solid way the parts click into place.

Alas, as Draven mentioned, I am too wary of damaging Donald to transform him too much now. But the Buzz seems like it could withstand thousands of transformations without so much as a complaint. Good, sturdy toy. Definitely recommend it to anyone.
