Hello everyone. SydneyY posted tons of pics of him in the cool things thread and I fell in love with him. I don't really know any of the cartoon history behind him accept from what I had read In the IDW Beast Wars Sourcebook. I was wanting to purchase a Big Convoy a month ago and couldn't find a feedback thread. So here we are a month later, I have the figure and decided to help out others and do a feedback thread for him.

I got this Big Convoy from BBTS for around 47 shipped. It comes in a Sonokong box instead of a Takara. In a discussion thread I asked what are, if any, differences there are between the two. And from what I understand, it's just the packaging.

Out of the package he comes in Robot mode. I am very impressed with his robot mode. His two tusks coming out of his shoulders make him very impressive looking. His head comes in a metallic lighter blue with gold chrome eyes. And he has "horns" on the sides of his helmet that flip in when he goes into beast mode. His maximal faction symbol has a gold chrome on it which is neat as well. Mine personally had some of the gold missing as you can see in the pics. I'm not sure why or how, but I don't beleive this is a wide spread issue.

While in bot mode you can see various plates of his beast mode throughout, but they done stand out at all. He has flip out weapons on his hands. They can either be stored secretly or be flipped out for battle. Under his chest he also has a removable Matrix which is a neat little feature. He has lots of moveable joints that give him good poseability. I wouldn't say he has great poseability because his beast mode "shell" pieces get in the way from time to time.

In bot mode, his beast mode forhead and spine turn into a big gun that shoots two missiles. If I get time I will try to take a picture of him holding his gun. He also has a missile launcher on each of his ankles that shoot a "horseshoe like" missile.

And here he is holding the matrix which stores in his chest.

Transformation into beast mode is not too easy but not too complex either. It is pretty mich a perfect balance to make it very fun.

His beast mode is a very cool Whooly Mammouth. He is mostly plastic except for his truck which is like rubber. His color ranges from a metallic looking brown at the top to a metallic looking orangish tan at his feet. He has green eyes and his tusks are a cream color. He also has a few gimmicks in beast mode. The first is when you pull a little lever at the top of his head, his trunk curls up. The second is when you pull his ears back, his tusks move. He has no leg articulation in beast mode. He also has a tail which flips up or down on a joint.

In beast mode he also has another mode in which I beleive you pull his "spine" out and turn it around to have a missile launcher where his head was. I will take a pic of this mode and post it later when I have time to figure it out.

In the Sonokong package he also comes with a few cards with pictures of him and other Beast Wars Neo characters. There are probably a few things I am missing and I apologize for that. Thanks for reading. :)

Glad you managed to get this kickass toy, for a fraction of the original Takara release! :D

A pretty amazing toy. When it has one of the more impressive Matrices of Leadership, you know this figure would rock. Both beast and robot modes are fantastic, and he's armed to the teeth.

A word of caution, try not to yank the head out. His head, contrary to appearances is mounted differently from a ball-joint. To remove the head, unscrew the whole torso and slide the head out. I learned the hard way and now my Big Convoy is a bobble-head.

Yea, I have this figure as well, and have to say its very impressive. I love it, and I can't say I would have been any more impressed with a takara version if I could of gotten my hands on one. I do so love my BC, and I wouldn't trade that figure for the life of me.

I pulled my copy of this out for possible reference for a drawing. Transformation is as somewhat irritating as I remember. Noticed swirls on the shoulder ball joints. Anyone notice those crack before?
