I'll see. Depending on how the Masterpiece will look, I'll see if getting the 2 pack and selling Soundwave will be worth.

Probably I'll keep the KO for the moment (the 2-pack is almost impossible to find here in Italy, and I should have to get it from oversea, increasing a lot shipping a foreing costs) and I'll see how the Masterpiece will look.

How much would you want for that 2nd HA Soundwave?

I don't know if it would be practical for me to sell it, since I should have to get the set from the USA, and then send it back, with a lot of shipping cost. I'm from Italy.

Many US police interceptors have small colored LED flashers installed in or behind their grill.

Retro-Review! Everyone else is doing it...
Human Alliance was a cool line of Voyager+ cars that had a whole slew of extra features and an articulated mini-figure to ride inside, all for a whopping $30. Revenge of the Fallen was a magical time. Autobots made up the majority of the line, though thankfully Hasbro didn't let the name stop them from including everyone's favorite bad cops.

Police car mode is damn amazing, from the clear headlight covers to the vanity plate. The doors can be a bit of a hassle to open, though, since there's nothing but the side-view mirrors to grip. Sometimes it's easier to just transform in a bit and open them from there.
Of note is the clear plastic window is sandwiched between two solid plastic parts that make up the actual door. Y'know so the whole thing isn't dependent on a single fragile piece...

    BIG

The main gimmick of the line is how the bot's buddy can ride inside. Frenzy is a bit awkward to get in do to his long legs that bend at weird angles; you're probably gonna have to open both doors and poke him into place from both sides.
Also room for a passenger, if you got 'em.

Alternatively, Frenzy can fold into a blocky shape and store where the engine should be.

Finally, the car mode's got flip-out guns! Too bad this was nearly a decade before Blast Effects were a thing.

Transformation's got a lot of parts, although it is essentially the same as the Legends figure (i.e. the entire sides pop out and become the arms, the rear folds down and splits into legs, head pops out of the hood).

    Robot modes!
So, articulation isn't quite where modern toys are at, Barricade's left hand is for whatever reason permanently in weapon mode, the top of his chest really ought to have a bend in it to be accurate, Frenzy is totally the wrong colors, and the leg mod is practically a requirement.... but still a fantastic toy. Check out that moving jaw!

Kind of a cool weapon, but losing a hand for it? Meh. At least you can fake a left hand.
Even more perplexing is why both the Masterpiece and Studio Series decided to invest in this buzzsaw wheel thing over Frenzy, but that's neither here nor there.

Barry's other hand has a peg so he can hold humans, neat! Not terribly convincing, but still.

The top of his right shoulder has a triple missile thing, which Frenzy is apparently supposed to man with a bit of transformation of the arm, but he can't even reach it.
... from a normal position, anyways.

The front bumper guns come back into play, which Frenzy can kinda use, if you can figure out the proper angles everything needs to be in. Honestly, the Frenzy interactions aren't all that great... but they don't really hamper anything either. They work perfectly fine as regular hidden weapons while Frenzy's off doing Frenzy things.

There are hidden pegs in Barricade's back which I'm really not sure what the point is, especially since Frenzy's knees make it hard for him to actually stand there.

Incidentally, the pegs used by these guys is carried over to some of the Studio Series figures, which is a cool bit of backwards-compatibility!
(I think it's supposed to be Titans Return compatible, though I haven't had quite as much success with them)

Human Alliance! We didn't get all that many Decepticons from there, did we?

Great review. He's still one of the all-time spectacular figures, though he's rather shamefully been replaced in my (limited) display space by MPM Baricade.

Maybe I should fish him out of storage so he can stand with HA Jazz...

Even over a decade later, this is still a gorgeous piece. Looks almost as good as the MPM.

Man, I miss the old ROTF days... movieverse engineering was at its peak there.

    This is the truth.

I wish that there was an equivalent line now. MPM cars are a bit smaller and have less playability than these figures. The only real dud of the entire line was Sideswipe. Soundwave and Roadbuster were incredible figures.

Nice retro review! Such a golden era of engineering, ROTF/HFTD was… I still dig HA Barricade, Jazz and Soundwave (the only ones I still have) a ton! Skids, Muddlap etc were all top notch too!

HA Barricade stood as my de facto movie Barricade all the way until the MPM came out. Stills fantastic figure nevetheless. I let go of older figures once I get a modern replacenr but in the case of Barricade I'll happily keep the HA version.
