I didn't see a thread featuring just Perceptor so hopefully this won't get moved or deleted. If there is one though, please feel free to merge them.

Anyway, I just went to my local TRU and picked him up.

Not a bad figure and the packaging alone is fantastic & the box art superb.

I didn't notice it until I got home and freed him from his box, but basically his missile firing gun has no spring in it so it just falls right out after inserting it.

This is my first Perceptor figure, so I can't do any comparison photos with the older versions. I did notice however, that his missile firing gun has a different colored red almost orange on it.

I'm really impressed with this figure.

(Edit: After examining the original and the Hasbro Commemorative edition, his missle gun is the color it's supposed to be)

I'm glad that I picked up Perceptor the second time around, missed out on the Japanese re-issue. A spring-loaded launcher that doesn't fire his missiles doesn't bother me much. A great addition to anybody's G1 collection.

I wound up dissecting the missile launcher and nearly snapping the plastic tab in two before I got it free of the cyanoacrylate. Once that got taken care of, I'm reasonably sure I could even un-neuter the missile launcher entirely...as it stands, right now it can hold the missile correctly at least.

This figure still holds its own. Love Perceptor. Not sure what the added broken missile launcher gig is all about, but whatever. I never had him first time around, and now I do.

I finally got my hands on this about a month or so ago but I do have the orginal as well. But for having the reissue meant alot just like having the orginal does. I have always loved this figure and will continue to always love the way he looks. Now on to some others just like this style hopefully from the big H.

Yep I got Perceptor recently too and he's pretty cool. I never had the cash for him when i was 6 back when the 1985/86 figures were in stores. I did have to crack open the missile launcher too and fortunately i was about to get the trigger portion to move again so now his missile doesn't just fall out.

Him and soundwave make good buddies since they are both about the same height and have "slightly" better articulation than other G1 figures.
