Masterpiece Skywarp - Hasbro Version

Having just picked this guy up, I thought that I would throw out a quick review.

This is the Hasbro version of the figure, you can see the Takara version review here. Also, the Hasbro Starscream review is here.

Skywarp 32cm long in aircraft by 22cm wingspan. There is not much to say that hasnt already been said about the Takara version. He is not as glossy as the Takara version but has a few more paint aps. Aside from the obvious differences - wing stickers (on both the top and underside of the wings, which is nice), silver air intakes at the front, tail fins are purple - he lacks the silver stripes on his arms but does have red detail on the air intakes. I found that mine snapped together better than the Hasbro Starscream, and felt solid, which was great.

The accessories are a little different in colours too, notably the missile racks and the Dr pilot figure.

Overall, an excellent figure, and I would recommend him.

Always looking to pick up another MP Seeker (especially in the UK) for the right cost.

The purple doesn't look as nice as the Takara version, I prefer the darker purple

hmm, I prefer how the Hasbro version looks in jet mode but I hate how he looks in robot mode and that he doesn't have red eyes

Is the nose cone painted like the MP Starscream (with purple plastic underneath)?

No. It seems to be just black plastic.

EDIT: Actually, I think it is... the inside is purple, but the paint is good on mine.

Takara's looks better so far, but I think it'll be easier to tell in person.

I have to admit that I didnt think that I would like him as much as I do. I am a big fan of the Takara versions, and the pictures made me feel that this version was too cartoony. Also, I was disappointed by Hasbro Starscream.

But, Hasbro Skywarp makes Hasbro Starscream look cheap and I think that he is far better. The red plastic on Starscream was flat and just looked bad. The purple stripes on Skywarp are really cool and work really well. I think that I still prefer the Takara version - mainly because I like the realism of the alt mode, which is one reason that I dont put the stickers on - but Hasbro Skywarp is a much closer second to Takara Skywarp than I expected.
