    i just got him today! my first ever 'G1' soundwave! the packaging is superb! the plastic trays are very secure even without the tapes because of mini 'tabs'. the figures inside are awesome and tight. i like all the tapes except ravage (maybe because i was exposed to Universe ravage first)

    finally, after 20 years or so, i have him! :)

    From what I understand Takara had lost the mold for Soundwave, but really wanted to put him out due to his popularity so they used a combination of reverse engineering (head) and the Soundblaster mold to make it happen. I don't know if this is true but it is what I have heard over the years.
