HA SS, car mode looks awesome... but robot mode ... well... for sure its articulation looks really bad for a $30~35 toys...

also this above pic shown looks like Sideswipe is a bit shorter than BB or just the angle issue ?
I 'd like to see more pictures on posing of the Sideswipe... as of now, he is a Not-buy for me.

Ok so I got mine, the legs drive me nuts, and so does the bad elbow articulation. Overall I do like him, but Deluxe SS Is the superior figure

I just got my hands on this figure. I have to agree that it is beautiful and that the pictures simply do not to it justice. Once in hand, this figure shines.

Oh, and to answer the question once and for all since it has been asked so many damn times, YES, the figure can bend at the knees!

HA Sideswipe is an awesome figure. I just wish his backpack can move up a little more and and tab to his back.

I dunno how to explain it but on the back of its leg the rod mechanism thing. Push the gray bit up where the rod bit goes through then push down the rod. The rod should sit flush on the gray bits solid part. It should help it stand up a lot better.

After doing the non-mod SS stands a lot straighter and won't tip over even when you pound on your desk.

I definitely love this figure, but like its little deluxe brother, it has some minor shortcomings. The sculpt is awesome, as well as the bright silver paint. The Stingray mode is captured beautifully, and I'm liking the soft blades more than I'd thought. The proportions are MUCH better than the initial pics, his telescoping lower legs take care of the stumpish-ness and his shoulders are wider than expected. The face sculpt is the highlight for me, and his eye tattoo enhances his hawk-like features.

For anyone on the fence, I classify this as an outstanding figure, but DEFINITELY don't buy him expecting an Alliance Bumblebee level of excellence. He has backpack and balance issues, but there are ways of tolerating both.

OmegaCarly's piston solution for the lower legs works excellently, giving the legs more stability while still allowing the knee to function. The backpack hinders Sideswipe less if you make sure the main, middle support arm for the backpack assembly is tabbed to his back and those odd bottom clips are securing the lower half.

I like having both this and the deluxe. Both look great, but the deluze is definitely more functional as a plaything. HS Swiper is much more of a challenge to pose, but looks awesome doing it.

My biggest gripe about this mold is how shitty the leg movement at the hip is

My only major dissapointment is that it's smaller then Bumblbee, I thought it would be taller then it is in bot mode.

Anyone know what the handle on the inside of the ceiling of the car is for? My nephew brought it up when he saw it.

Only thing I can come up with is that it's something Epps can hold on to if you swing the canopy over Sideswipe's head so that the tailpipes can face forward and fire like in the movie.

What you said is exactly what it is for. A pic was seen demonstrating it.

    Hmmm. Didn't see that pic.

Wonder why the instructions left that out as well as the hip flaps. But that is Hasbro instructions for you.

Does anyone have any ideas/solutions to protect painted parts from being scratched up? While HA Sidswipe has some nice silver paint, I can already see some nicks building up on him, especially his arms.

Is there any way to handle this, maybe with clearcoat or nail polish? I wonder if there's a Radicons tip for this...
