Ok guys, this is my first review so if I screw anything up, let me know. Here we have the very curious ROTF Optimus Prime Role-Play sword. At the price of $7.99 it's a neat item, but with the cost so low, expect it to have some drawbacks. Here's a quick overview of it's specifics: Packaging: Attached via twisty tie onto standard ROTF cardback Material: Molded Plastic/Cloth Straps Length: 22 inches Width: 5 inches maximum - 1 inch minimum http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/attachment.php?attachmentid=27100865&stc=1&d=1247854393 And the sword off card: It has some really nice molding and detail. They could have just made it in solid colors but there is some nice "paint wear" present. A let down for me is the symbols. For some reason I thought they were etched in, but no, they're just stickers. And the backside: The plastic has some weight to it, but it gets thin near the edges. I'm sure that some ambitious enough people could fill the hollowness with resin or something, giving it a little more durability. The back has two elastic straps that secure the arm pretty tight to the sword. The only issue would be if you have large arms or big hands. There's not to much room to hide them behind there. Me, I have twig arms so it's no problem. The length of the sword isn't bad. I'm 6" 4' and it looks ok on me I guess. Well, as good as a plastic role-play sword intended for children 4+ can... Over all, it's a pretty cool item for $8.00. I wouldn't recommend it for slicing off faces or taking down giant evil robots, but hanging it or displaying it would be just fine.
For some reason I see a picture of someone wearing an OP helmet making sounds while waving sword and the blaster thing, it ain't pretty
I'm sorry but this thing should be at the 99 cent store. It's nothing more than a cheap piece to some dollar store halloween costume. granted that's just my opinion. I think I'd much rather make one out of wood and make it fit over my entire hand.
There will not be a video, but when I get one of these I plan having a picture taken of me wearing these things.
looking like a fool wearing crappy looking plastic transformers costumes and weapons is the right of all sentient beings
I never seen a toy made by Disguise...and its back has all the licensing from Hasbro ? and promotion for the TFClub ? I thnk this is a KO.. considering they mis-used a Bumblebee pic as Optimus Prime. They should make one for the left hand too. For 99 cents that seems a bit more appropriate...
I foresee this thing being huge when Halloween rolls around... But I agree, it pisses me off that they used a pic of BB, when any idiot with a DSL connection could have found great pics of OP to use...
