ROTF fast action battle SIDEWAYS review/pictures

A quick frillfree review.

Nice alt mode, chunky sports car, nice engine detail on back, overall has a polished and tidy look, robo free underside (no head!).

Transformation is very easy and takes about 10 seconds to robot, add a couple of seconds to transform back. Its all rather satisfying and everything fits together well in both modes.

The transformation is like simplified cross between G1 jazz (horizontal car front becomes chest, head pops up from hood middle, car rear in original positions become back of legs)and G1 sideswipe (car sides become arms).

You pull out the arms, swing them forward, pull down the back of the car to make the legs, split the leg halves, flip down the roof which swings up the head, finally lift up his wings formed from the top halves of the side windows.

Robot mode is great. Chunky and rather menacing. i love the simple 'exploded' car look from the back.

Posability: Shoulder balls allow full 360 rotation but little movement outside that. Swivel waist, 360. knees some movement back. Head can look down a bit if you raise the car roor on his back. He has his magne missile which can fire out from the inside of his right arm, its more of a wheel on a stick but fires well. His detailing is really nice, has a clawed hand on left arm, no hand on right. The head sculpt is great, almost as detailed as the delux version, excellent tidy paint apps.

Overall i like the G1 vibe from this figure, pulling the arms out to transform is very reminiscent of a g1 toy, makes a nice contrast to a delux toy like skids whos rather complex by comparison. The styling isnt for everybody but i'd say hes one of the nicer new FAB's along with the likes of longhaul and maybe jolt!

The thread title should have read: Rotf FAB Doomcar. That's what I'm going to call mine when I get it.

He looks awesome. The care mode is just magnificent, and the paint apps are goregeous.

Thanks to SmokescreenGT for the sig!
