He's got a unique look that most people will either love or hate but personally I like it and think that it gives him character. It also kind of blends among the other flying movie figures as Starscream also has an oddly proportioned bot mode. I wish his head could rise out more and move at least side to side and I don't mind the backpack except I wish things pegged together a bit more but otherwise its a pretty solid figure in my book. His colors aren't great and you can see a fair amount of kibble in fighter mode but at least his overall vehicle profiles are pretty smooth, it isn't like he's got robot appendages blatantly dangling off his arse like Jetfire or Dreadwing. A better color scheme would have gone a lone way to making those big feet of his blend into the fighter.
He's not one of the best figures in the first waves but honestly most all of these toys seem to be winners. Being among the weakest of a strong team isn't too bad and I have no regrets about buying him.

He has just such an unorthodox look that oozes character, so in other words you'll absolutely love him or hate how awkward he looks. The backpack looks pretty damned good to me; it's obvious he's meant to use it as a jetpack or something.
Overall, everything is solid and not floppy like a lot of the previous Movie toys were. I don't mind the static head because that "hunchback" look is partly what gives him all the character. If you've dealt with me, please leave feedback here. Thanks! |

Next week I'll get him in the mail and I'll probably post a review explaining why I like him afterall, because.... my initial impression of Breakaway was not good either. |

I like him, but I do recommend that you remove the head, because then the gappiness and the backpack can be explained away as primitive design. It does take some fiddling to get a backpack look that is to your tastes.
He does deserve credit foe all his ankle joints though, and the rotating gun is oddly fulfilling. |
