Forgive me if there is another thread, but I searched through this forum and I've yet to find it.

So here's my review of "The Fallen," which I picked up at the Target in Valley Stream, NY a few days ago.

Or rather, here WOULD BE the review... if I knew how to Transform him! The instructions have about 8 steps, leaving out a good number of moving parts and features.

The sculpt is top notch, and the articulation is much better than expected... but a full review (while not my forte in the first place) is almost impossible without knowing... what's supposed to go where.

So for your troubles, and maybe in return for some helpful hints from other users that have him, I've got some pictures. Well, two pictures. Static pose. One with a flash, one without. But I can post some more later on if anyone's interested.

He has those same spring loaded feet that Voyager Megatron had in the first movie line. But they work a little better here. I don't quite understand what their intended purpose is, but I like to imagine that as you lift him up his feet SPRING DOWNWARD like he's launching himself through the air with a MIGHTY LEAP. Or something...

The main portion of the figure that absolutely baffles me is the flappy things that connect his arms to his torso. There's no indication in the instructions AT ALL about what they're for. They line up in robot mode, if you unfold them the right way, and they connect the arms to the torso like in the picture. It just doesn't really make any sense.

Also, the red "energy panels" behind his head are apparently supposed to "pop" out when you push his head down (after folding them behind his head, and pushing his head up to lock them in place) but mine hardly fold in at all. They're locked in place just fine, but they're not folded in enough that they can store away folded, like they can if you manually hold them in place and fold the head back. They're not even folded in enough to be unnoticeable. There doesn't appear to be any mechanism out of place, so I'm assuming its an engineering flaw.

Basically this is all guessing, because I can't find another review of the guy online, with the exception of that one video review in the video forum.

Still, he's a pretty cool figure. The sculpting and the color scheme are really interesting, and the design proportions appeal to me more than the movie design. His vehicle mode looks like he fell down a flight of stairs, but I'll get into that more once I figure out if there are any transformation steps that I missed. I can't see how it could get any better, though.

The Fallen is a truly mean figure, you can just tell he's evil by looking at him.

Probably my most wanted toy right now.

i think im definetly gonna do a overall wash of bright orange on him, to get that fire into all his little cracks and crevices like in the cg shots weve seen.

I can't believe I'm noticing his Pharaoh motif just NOW. The Fallen just pulled an Anub'arak on me.

I should also note that the transformation in my pictures is with ALL of the energy panels extended. He normally doesn't look like that. The forearms have gauntlets that fold down over his wrists, and that exposes the panels on his upper arms. And the red frills on the back of his neck, obviously.

Should his head lock in place like this? The background of these pics are just too colorful... it hurts my eyes..

    Here is what bothers me:

    1. The closing feet.
    2. The odd color scheme choice.
    3. Shortness.
    4. Lack of gimmicks.

Mostly the first, those kinds of things really irk me.

Yup, he's a great figure. I might or might not get him, depending on my budget..

Try fiddling around with the figure. You might find a reason why those things are there ;)

Yeah, there's no other way to transform it.

As for the background, I have a lot of recent acquisitions and my desk has become very occupied!

Dude, he looks pretty rad. He, along with Sideways, are probably the figures I'm looking forward to the least. But this review has changed my opinion on the fallen at least. So thanks for the review!

Right, but the instructions don't address them at all. And when they're connected he loses all movement in his arms, they have to be set in a specific position.

There also seem to be some outright wrong steps in there, too. Instructions that ignore the most logical positions for a piece, or have you fold up a piece away from the connector that it's obviously supposed to connect to.

From the videos I've seen, it isn't short at all. It's really tall for a Voyager.
