Spent a good while last night getting him into jet mode. It's a bit of a pain having to line everything up just right. Thanks for the tip on the belt Jametron.

Sure thing... I only came up with that after seeing a picture posted by Peaugh (at the beginning of this thread) of Jetfire's underbelly... and it looked to me as though that's how he did it. Prior to that, I didn't know what the hell to do with it!

I'm not crazy on jetfire mainly because I didn't like the idea of an 'old man' transformer anyways. I'd much rather get something along the lines of Vector Prime, clearly ancient but not based on an old 'human'. Of course that's not a problem so much with the design of the toy as the design of however came up with the stupid idea.

Anyways he was worth it just for the vehicle mode, why didn't they make more of these jets in the transformers line? Now all I need is that movie Stealth Bomber transformer and I've got a very nice looking air force collection!

Combined mode is meh. I didn't expect much since it was so complicated in the movie, but it's just Optimus Prime wearing a Jetfire cape. It does cost him leg articulation, though in his defense he doesn't really need it since he can fly now The hollow gun doesnt' sit well with me either. It's nice that it's big and it actually give Prime a gun, but there's no reason they couldn't have figured out a better well to fill in the space besides sticking his cane in there.

Fiddling with mine more, back in jet mode now. Transformation is still more frustrating than it should be (especially his lowest back parts and legs of course) but the jet mode is sooooo nice.

I'd get him despite the tons and tons of kibble in alt mode, but every time I go to a toy store I hate the paint job. If he were all black with some more bronze highlights like IN THE MOVIE, then I'd probably have him by now. Maybe there'll be a repaint somewhere down the line. There's already a "Shadow Command Megatron" coming.

The single most important decision of the entire Transformers movie: Will there, or will there not, be an extra on the DVD featuring the Autobots dancing to Michael Jackson's Thriller? It would be like getting hit by an atomic bomb of awesome, and you know it. Copy this into your signature right now!

Interesting point about the repaints, I would hate to imagine what a Red & White G1 Coloured Movie Jetfire would look like.
