I knew that I wasn't going to be able to make my mind up properly on this guy until I saw the Peaugh pics. After seeing months of leaked, blurry images of toys lying mistransformed and static, it's always just glorious seeing these huge galleries of high-quality photos taken by someone who knows not only the transformations, but also understands the characters and therefore is able to pose them in a way that best showcases their personality.

Such is the case with Jetfire. I always thought he looked promising, but seeing him here posed with his cane on the ground and a proper hunch, he just looks fantastic. Bought, even if the combined mode is fairly marginal.

Totally agree. Hope he's got that Supreme Devastator coming. That's gonna be an important review for lots of people

With the new movie designs, I've been a big fan of the relatively consistent scale between the different bots (movie, not toys). Looking at these pics, I'm hoping that the scale issue is only with the toys and that the movie does a better job of keeping the scales consistent between a semi and an SR-71.

Personally, I would have rather seen a new mold voyager, or even deluxe, Prime to combine with Jetfire. Unfortunately for my wallet, this is Optimus Prime with an SR-71 backpack, and that concept is resonates with the 10 year old in me, so I'll probably end up getting these.

His alt mode is WIN/FAIL. From the top he is awesome. From any other angle, all that undercarriage stuff makes him suck.

I dunno.... MAYBE I'll end up getting him. And if it turns out he really really DOES suck and I don't want him, I suppose I could always sell him off or something. There's things I like about it and things I really don't like. Might be one of those times where you need to actually have it in hand to really decide.

Peaugh, how is the leg articulation on Jetfire? Does he have knee joints? I wonder if the back/shoulder panels can be configured to look like wings, that's how he's drawn in the comic adaptation.

And for those wondering, this is the configuration I currently display him in:

I know they're not technically facing the proper direction, but folding those shoulder bits in half REALLY helps the look.
