The Op is naturally entitled to his opinion, but I think this review is overly harsh in some respects.

    1. Paint Wear - The stuff you've pointed out is really no worse than what I've gotten out of the box with a lot of Hasbro and Takara stuff.

    2. The Weapon Cabinets: We all saw the pics of the interior of this trailer LONG before it was released. The Cabinets were very clearly visible. We knew they were there, and you must have known they were there when you ordered it... so why are they suddenly an issue? I understand the issue with the space they take up limiting the deluxes that can fit in the trailer, but you sound like you were surprised they were there to begin with. And your point about them being big enough to store multiple weapons each... I believe that was in fact the POINT. They're storage for accessories.

    3. The Trailer Hitch: I'm not entirely clear on this... does the hitch pop off if you pull Optimus along a flat surface? Because the original G1 Optimus trailer didn't clip on, nor has any other mainline trailer. If it doesn't stay secure as those would, then I understand the issue... but if it's just because the clips don't actually clip the two together... that doesn't seem like a huge deal to me. Definitely not worth hauling out a Micrometer for. Especially given Henkei Prime is the FIFTH iteration of the Classic's Prime mold, and is likely to have more than a little mold variance himself.

I've got one of these on the way for my Nemesis Prime... and nothing I see here really seems like a deal breaker. It's a trailer for a mold that was never intended to have a trailer, and it WORKS. It's also got some imaginative and unique ideas, and they took the risk of deviating from the G1 design rather radically. While you've noted some QC issues, they seem no worse than what you'd find on Hasbro's products, and for a small run fan-made item, that's actually pretty damn impressive.

its all good man, yeah, i actually LIKE it..not trying to dissuade people from buying but i think harsh critiques will keep BTS's game strong and encourage them to finesse out all the little details for a better product. if everybody just tells them "i love it, you guys are great!" there's no room for improvement.

the hitch on mine keeps popping off so yeah if you were to pull it along a flat surface the whole trailer would just fall off...hopefully this is just an issue with mine? the g1 trailer stays on g1 prime when you pull it and so does the FP hitch for henkei and classics prime.

oh, i knew about the cabinets, it wasn't a surprise...the shock was how big they are...having that little peg to hold the guns in the door gets in the way of stashing stuff in there but the entire front end of the trailer is basically a hollow cavity so you can put the weapons in there.

and yeah, paint wear/sloppy apps is normal...my universe prowl is a great example, lol. but if you look at the pictures there's dents and scratches in the plastic and in the first picture you can see dust embedded in the paint, that sucks man.

again, im looking at this from an industrial design standpoint, if you are willing to invest all the time for designing and all the cash for steel tooling (injection molds) to make it a REAL manufactured item instead of a one off piece it should be as high quality as possible....i never bought their ratchet/ironhide heads but saw them up close and they looked really high quality.

Nice Jason, i like the micrometer. what a huge difference. maybe you should measure the clip points rather than the width of the recess.

I like it, despite it's faults. I will probably get one, once I get voyager prime, that is.

Got mine yesterday from Kapow. I love it!

I do find the trailer isn't 100% secure on Prime's hitch on an uneven surface, but on a smooth surface stays on fine for me. Might try a bit of nail varnish though.

Also, I've found that if you fold the crane the other way, the crane arm can fold up into the front end of the trailer and still allow it to close, instead of dangling about in the back, or resting on a stored deluxe car.

One gripe I do have is that the ball joint on the crane arm is a bit loose. It's OK most of the time, but flops down in certain poses. Might have to try some nail varnish there too.

Overall, this trailer is excellent, and really fit's in with the aesthetics of Classics Prime. Since the G3 trailer is almost twice the price, I personally think this one is much better value for money. Well done BTS!

Got mine awhile back...I really like it. Great addition to complete Optimus. I don't have any issues with mine. I do wish Roller's wheeled could lock in the 'out' position when connected to the trailer, but oh well. It works either way.

Read the reviews of this one
Read the reviews of the FP g3 trailer.

Look at the pro/con/cost of each.
    Look at your own wants/cash.

    Come to a reasonable conclusion.

There hasn't been a direct comparison review that I know of, but it doesn't matter to me. I know I'm getting the G3 trailer because I want quality.

It depends entirely on what you want out of the trailer, and it comes largely down to personal preference on Price and Aesthetics.

If you just want a trailer for your bot mode to lug around and collect dust on the shelf, the BTS is much cheaper and more in keeping with the Classics' sleeker, redesigned aesthetic. The G3 trailer is more of a G1 throwback homage for people who want a big boxy trailer.

The G3 seems to be better quality production and engineering-wise, but you're paying a lot more for gimmicks you might not even use, like the mirrored "stealth" panels.
If you're looking to open the thing and display it as a battle station, the BTS is less stable and somewhat less impressive than the G3. It's not bad by any means, but it's less of a love letter to G1 than the G3 one, and it costs half as much.

It also depends on what you HAVE.

The G3 trailer is all about compatibility with a SLEW of stuff. It has weapons for Classics Hound, Grimlock, Bumblebee, Sideswipe and Mirage. It has a LOT of compatibility with the Powered Commander armor, including a Roller gimmick that ONLY works with the TFCon release... if you don't have a lot of Classics, or any of the Commander armors... this might not be the trailer for you. Then again, it does so much other stuff so WELL.

I got one of each... a Nemesis colored BTS trailer for my Nemesis Prime, and a G3 for my Powered Commander Optimus Prime, so I'll be able to do a comparison soon.
