These finally came in the mail today from Singapore. Seeing as how Hasbro said they had no plans to release these (or the other 4 sets that still haven't seen release period) I ended up buying these on Epay for $25 +shipping (I'm a completist on this line, sue me). Also, forgive my camera. It's old, and it decides to be in focus whenever it pleases.
MISC-
Cross sales for two sets we might never see -
But which one is the REAL royalty?-
Tigatron/Inferno-
Back sides (aka where Cheetor's insignia should've gone (instead of on his ass) and rocket butt)-
Predaking/Ricochet-
Awesome-
Obscure character repaint, just as awesome in my book-
Repaint Comparisons-
On the shelf (need another baseplate to put under that second set)-
Inferno and Predaking are just ridiculously awesome. Predaking knocks the 3-inch Titanium out of the water, right down to the ridiculous looking mini-animal faces sculpted in (kind of like Robot Heroes Grimlock from 2007). I thought Inferno was going to have balance issues, but mine stands fine on his own.
As repaints, Tigatron and Ricochet do their thing. Tigatron's paint apps are a wee bit sloppy, but I really didn't have 20 of these things to look through at the local Walmart to guarantee the best quality. Ricochet is very sharp looking in person. I wonder if these two sets only came out because they were already half-repaint anyway. Originally they were supposed to ship with Super Prime/Megs and Prowl/Laserbeak, but I've heard no reports of them hitting retail ANYWHERE (which I guess is also code for Victory Saber/Desaurus and Primal/Jetstorm will probably NEVER come out).
If you've got the spare cash, are into this kind of stuff, and are lucky enough to find them on Ebay when somebody lists one, I'd recommend them.
Latest Acquisitions: Target Leo Prime, TRU Perceptor & Insecticons

Hopefully they'll still get released later. RHs aren't going away. We still have new Movie ones coming. These things are cheap, small, I can't see Hasbro NEVER releasing them. XBL GT: SPLITTLIP Quote:

Of those six, these two have seen release in Malaysia, Australia, Singapore and Hong Kong, seems like kind of like the same situation as that last wave of GI Joe vehicles if I remember right.

Hm, hope for an eventual release from Hasbro after the movie, or overpay on eBay and get hit and miss paint apps? Arrgh.

The case breakdown is:
Ricochet/Predaking x4
Tigatron/Inferno x4
Perceptor/Bombshell x2
Cheetor/Tankor x2
No sign of Slag/Sharkticon, Blaster/Thrust, Prime/Megs or Prowl/Laserbeak, however. And apparently this is completely different to the assortments released in the US! Hasbro is a strange beast.
If anyone wants any of these guys I've got a thread in the sale/trade forum offering to pick them up free of charge. The UK retail + international shipping isn't cheap, but it at least beats eBay. |
