well, i know he doesn't come with batteries...i'll check my box later cuz if it makes sounds it'll be on there...

He does, you just have to insert batteries inside the rocket.

Countdown is one of my favourite characters, and if I see him up here - and can afford him at the time - I'll have to see about getting him!

Wonder who'd make a good Skystalker to match up against him, though.

EDIT: Also, are there any pics of what the alt mode looks like with the rocket detached?

I just picked it up the other day and i have not had the mold before either and i think it rocks. ANd i totally agree it should be redone with a head remold for doubledealer.

Got him in the mail a few days ago; he is total awesomeness. I never did own Cybertron Defence Red Alert, but the mold is very fitting for Countdown. I love how the paint scheme for the rocket and the figure are reminiscent of the original figure and the rocket base.
