I love skids, movie and toy wise. Had no problems standing him or rolling him. The face looks so awesome too, no complainin' there. Only problem - really weak leg joints, not that bad, but irritating
Got Skids yesterday and I love him The only thing is that his knees are a loose as hell and I have to use his hood to make him not fall back
That must be a production quality thing, and not something inherent with all the figures, mine has tight knees. It also has unpainted teeth, if that makes a difference.
Anyway, in a collection of hundreds of little robots, is the average person likely to spot and recognise Skids anyway?
I think the chest design would work much better if it locked in place with the side panels out and the shoulder struts (that looklike eyebrows) raised - otherwise they engineered all those parts for no reason. And in the CGI images i've seen of him the eyebrow like pieces are raised at all time anyway. It feels like it should be press to lock and press to unlock but that it's somehow broken or missdesigned.
Finally got a hold of a Skids yesterday while shopping at Target (at 5:00am, lol). He's actually the better of the two twins, imo, but not without his own faults. The main issue I have with him is the mismatched green on him. He'd be nearly perfect if the two greens were at least closer to each other. Still, he's worth owning. I don't plan on transforming him, or Mudflap for that matter, into their alt-modes all that much. I really like Skids' punching gimmick, especially compared to Mudflap's firing missile (which I can't get to stay in there for longer than a second or two). Skids' head-sculpt is actually rather nice, especially since it has the painted teeth. I really like how his back-pack folds up better than Mudflap's. Overall, I give Skids a 7/10. Definitely not perfect, but own-able. I'm actually hoping this mold gets repainted into his G1 color scheme. I think the mold would be worth getting a second time if they gave it a nice blue and gray color scheme with some nice red and white accents to it.
