SWTF Captain Rex / AT-TE

As usual for the SWTF line, Rex has some positives and negatives. First off, like most of the SWTF line, his vehicle mode is fabulous. Looks very accurate to what was in the movies and TV shows with nice detailing and moving legs. He's armed in vehicle mode with 7 ball-jointed guns, and two areas that could sit drivers (if he came with drivers.) The front-opening cockpit is a nice touch that isn't mentioned on the package. Transformation is pretty straight forward compared to other, more complex SWTFs. The leg transformation is very annoying, because they like to pop off EVERY time you flip them out, which is a fault of the thigh swivel being two short in the peg. Also his backpack is kind of floppy, but not too bad since it sits pretty close to the back. Headsculpt is great, and his overall colors are nice but he has a bit too much clean white. I think a nice wash would of really helped in this case. His robot mode looks surprisingly cool in person, and is fairly articulated. Feet are kind of small, making balance tricky, but you can get some cool poses thanks to all the POAs like the nifty waist swivel. Overall after messing around with him for a few days, I think he turned out to be one of the better SWTFs, but that isn't saying much. Super-action-pose pic attached:

Looks great. I will probably pic him up at some point. I have only seen the Marvel Crossovers at stores for the past few months, so this one might be hard to find.

Thanks to SmokescreenGT for the sig!

This was the first SWTF I've picked up since the AT-AT, I figured I would give them another chance. Thanks to this turd, I won't be buying any more.

While vehicle mode looks nice (as most SWTFs do), robot mode is a pile of ass. The way the fists attach to the arms looks completely stupid. As stated above, his legs pop off - you can't avoid it. I've seen figures where people will say this or that will pop off and I'm usually good at avoiding it - on this guy there's no avoiding it. Completely assinine thigh design.

He can barely stand (if at all), his feet are small and positioned way too far forward of his center of balance. The leg joints are incredibly stiff and try their best to not pose (not to mention fall apart when you try).

Awful figure unless you keep it in vehicle mode.

Yeah, picked him up last week, couldn't put forth the effort to do a review. He's not quite as atrocious IMHO as MegaMoonMan thinks, but he definately has his faults. Strangly, on mine, one of the thighs doesn't have the pop out problem, the other does.

I'm thinking that with the arm posability, I may chop off the front and back legs and just think of him as a spaceship instead of a walker.

I was looking forward to getting him, but in hand, he's barely worth mentioning.
