Man they sure did their best to pimp him on that box art! The robot doesn't really look any where near that good. Still, I like the new head, and I like that he matches with Cybertron Optimus in savage claw mode now.

Great review... still not sure if I want the figure as this mold is actually quit bad. I've owned both Leobreaker and Nemesis Breaker and sold both of them. Though, he does look nicer the Leobreaker combined with Cybertron Prime. I may have to pick up another Cybertron Prime (blah, psycho expensive nowadays) if I get this guy. That's a big if when you consider the mold it's from.

Could be a hold over from the Autobots? Or just a Maximal that's got a lot of respect for his Autobot ancestors. Both concepts have been done before in Botcon fiction.

Of course, the real reason probably has more to do with them not originally planning the figure to be part of the 'Beast Wars Series' or the TF 25th line. More than likely he was intended to be a regular Universe figure or something. To be frank... with that new head... I wouldn't be surprised to see 'Botcon' Razorclaw done out of this mold now from Hasbro.

Yeah, the LeoBreaker mold fits into either shoulder of the Cybertron Leaders.

Wow...that thing looks bad. And it really bothers me that they're claiming Prime's magic mushroom is in fact the same character as Lio Convoy, and yet, he's sporting an Autobot symbol. It just really irks me for some reason...I don't even collect, haha.

    Pros:
    * The Optimus Prime color scheme works on this mold better than I would have expected.

    * The new head sculpt is pretty nifty, and fits the style of the mold well. Wouldn't be surprised to see this repainted as Razorclaw sometime in the future.

    Cons:
    * The mold has pretty awkward jointing, so it's hard to find poses in either mode that don't look weird or stupid.

    * Lioconvoy colors may have been preferable, though I'm guessing Hasbro went with the red and blue on the (probably correct) basis that it would sell better.

    * electronics appear to be gutted.

Overall: I like it more than I thought I would, though if you have little to no love for this mold to start, there's not much to change your mind.

I knew that I wasn't going to be blown away by this guy, but I didn't know that I'd be THIS underwhelmed. I suppose it's the first cross dressing Prime we have. He not only sports high-heeled boots, but a pony tail. Nice.

Nice boxart, but none of the A/E/C repaints have managed to float my boat yet.

Can anyone recommend a good set of Maximal decals which would work for Leo Prime, if one wanted to, um, Maximize the figure's faction affiliation?

As soon as I saw this I purchased another Cybertron Prime for a cheap price. I wanted to pick 2 up in stores but I haven't seen them. So I caved a brought them from HTS for $18 each. It was a better price anyway. I like the new heldsculpt and because of it I will actually display this mold in robot mold. It's nice edition to my prime Detolf. Now I not sure if I'll put it on the BW Convoys shelf or just my random prime shelf.

Remarks: Leo Prime is a repaint of Galaxy Force Ligerjack (aka Cybertron Leobreaker), so look there for the full review. Just some words on the differences here. This figure is actually something of a double homage. It's name, the character described in the profile, and the choice of figure (or alternate mode, rather) all pay homage to the Japanese Lio Convoy, leader of the Cybertrons in the Beast Wars II series. Whereas Lio Convoy had a mostly white and red color scheme, though, the choice of colors here references another figure, namely the original Optimus Prime. There is a Target exclusive version of this figure that actually does adopt Lio Convoy's color scheme (see below), but the "normal" Universe version of this figure is a mixed homage.

So what else can I say about this figure? It's got a different head mold than Ligerjack, though once again it looks more like the original Optimus head rather than Lio Convoy's noggin'. Nothing else has changed about the figure, including its ability to powerlink with Cybertron Optimus Prime in Savage Claw mode. In this combo the colors work very well, though. It's not the exact same shade of red as Cybertron Prime, but very close and harmonizes a lot better than Ligerjack's brown.

Not sure what else to write, though. Same gimmicks as Ligerjack, same alternate mode (though it does look great in blue and red, btw), same posability, etc. So the bottom line is: Still a good figure, a great choice for an homage to Lio Convoy, though I'm not sure about the choice of colors, no matter how good they look. If you're going to pay homage to a character, do it properly. I got Leo Prime here on clearance and wouldn't have bothered otherwise. Still, a nice choice for people who passed on Ligerjack and have a Cybertron Prime at home. If you get the chance, I'd advice grabbing the Target version, though.
