Got a package from GenZhao the other day, and along with Animated Sunstorm, I got Legends Optimus and the Maxx!

Um, I mean Optimus and Jetfire:

They're both pretty cool. They're excellent, tiny little representations of their on-screen counterparts (okay, I'm guessing on Jetfire, but still nice!)

We'll start off with Optimus. First thing you want to do is split his arms and legs:

The waist piece actually rotates around 180 degrees and then tabs onto the lower torso:

Then just flip down the feet and snap the arms forward:

And flip the back panel down, which flips the head up, and you're done!

And since I found the new "SUPER MACRO" setting on my camera, a head shot:

For Jetfire, start by pulling out his rear fins to extend his legs:

Then fold the entire engine pod assemblies under each wing:

After that, fold the wings together and flip the whole thing over to form his body:

Fold the cockpit assembly down against his back:

And then swing his arms forward and voila!

You'll notice I did the wheel modification I mentioned in my video review. His left fist had a landing gear sticking out of it, which looked silly. But it helps fill in some of the underside of the jet nosecone, and I didn't want to lose it entirely, so I carefully cut it off and glued it inside the nosecone. Everything still functions and this way he has two normal hands:

Again, the SUPER MACRO! head shot:

And for those wondering, a shot of the intentionally scratched up Decepticon logo:

As mentioned before, he can combine with Prime. I've seen a few different ways, from the limbs-akimbo crazy poses:

To the more compact jetpack-ish mode (which is how I usually have them):

They're quite cool, especially for such tiny figures, and there are ways to get them quite cheaply RIGHT NOW. Definitely worth picking up.

Video reviews are available, as always. I've started shooting them with my new HD camera, so check out the high-res versions!

He can, but it's just an upside down SR-71 on top of a semi truck. :lol

man that jetfire looks awful. AWFUL. :(  sure as heck doesn't look like a blackbird 'cept the middle, nor like it could fly... and half the jet hanging off his head? I'm beyond disappointed. I sure hope that his "full-sized" toy looks a million times better than this crud.

Well, having not seen any of the movie designs for Jetfire, I have no idea how accurate he is to the source. But it's a legends figure, for one of the most detailed lines to date. I have to believe that any larger version of the character will look TONS better than the legends version.

For just a Legends class figure, that Optimus Prime isn't all that bad. I might actually get him. Jetfire doesn't look too bad, but I have a feeling his larger counterparts will look much better than this one. Hopefully we see another one of his toys in the near future. Like a FAB, Voyager, or something. Just out of curiosity, could you take some pictures of these two, or at least Optimus, compared to some other toys? Preferabley something that I have, like Movie Deluxe Concept BB, the first RH Optimus Prime from the first movie, the 3" Titanium Movie Optimus Prime, or something else. Thanks in advance if that's possible :D

Isn't complaining about how a LEGENDS figure is accurate overkill?

I prefer the Jetpack-ish combination, but i s'pose the 'arms akimbo' combination could be used to ram Jetfire's nosecone into something! He! He!

Yeah go onto hasbro.com and look at the Legends class figures for the first movie. These are actually a lot more detailed. These are the toys that retail for $3.99. And they look pretty nice for that.

I wouldnt be suprised a BIT if Jetfire looks completely different compared to the toy.

If you take a look at Prime several parts are displayed because a TOY cant hide "redundant" parts. Take a look at the CGI model and some things tend to "disappear". Ofcourse you can mask these parts with other stuff which a toy simply cant do.

So far I'm not really fond of Jetfire's design and the fact he's a combiner with Prime scares me. Why couldn't they design him so that the NECK part creates a body for him? Now it looks like a freakin' giraffe that had sex with that weird Church guy from the Disney movie : "Hunchback of the Notre Dame"

I really hope the bigger, and more expensive toys, will improve Jetfire's design.

    Jetfire - Prime Combination

I think there will be no combination...look at the scale! a truck with an SR-71 Blackbird...or the legend class prime should be combined with a deluxe jetfire...
