I didn't see a thread for this. Blazing Lockdown is a repaint of Lockdown. He looks a bit plain in vehicle mode, but the flames are nice. He looks a lot better in robot mode. I think he looks better than the original in robot mode, but the original looks better in alt mode. His main gimmick is a chainsaw that attaches to his arm mounted EMP. The chainsaw can be attached to the front of the alt mode, but it looks silly.
I think that was Bumblebee. His Stingers are fixxed on his Elite Guard repaint. I may be wrong, though, I'm going off the top of my head at the moment... and I just finished... errrr... won't tell you what number beer. So I may be VERY wrong. Looks like if you could get a gold sharpie, you could paint the spikes and make his alt mode more interesting... I don't know if sharpie makes gold ink pens, but I know they exist... in art shops at least, I'd imagine. I've only seen the silver ones at Walmart. Though my Walmart sucks.
Something I forgot to mention. I heard some complaints about how one of the legs pop off easily during transformation (the original Lockdown, I mean). Both legs stayed on him (Blazing) fine, but my original Lockdown's left leg comes off easily. Blazing Lockdown's Decepticon symbol is hard to see. It's almost the same color as his chest.
Same here. The original's legs come off easy. I have not had this problem with Blazing. I am disappointed in the hands though.
Not really, specially considering Hasbro doesn't think the hands are "flawed", they're supposed to be like that to fit the classy-character Lockdown is.
Hm. I could of sworn I read something about them fixing the hands. I guess I got him confused with Bumblebee.
yeah, this. they cant see anything to fix, apparently.. lol. thanks for the review, looks a nice repaint of one of my least favorite animated figures.. might pick this up sometime
I got this guy for Christmas. I think I would have liked him a bit better if I hadn't gotten Stealth Lockdown a few weeks back. He's pretty nice, though - the bot mode looks really good ( I love that they finally painted those neck-ring details), and the chainsaw makes him look a little more deranged. Car mode is nice, but very plain and overall not much different from the original. It's hard to really recommend the toy unless you're just really into the mold or collect remolds.
Unfortunately, no. It can only be removed and reattached. And even when it's attached, it's not held on that solidly. However, seeing as how this is supposed to be a gone-mad-with-power version of the character, I just leave the EMP gun and chainsaw deployed in car mode. Makes it seem like he's really itching to kill autobots.
One thing I don't like about him is the spikes on the car roof and on his shoulder pads aren't colored.
i got mine at target yesterday along with swindle at target and he is pretty cool and i will have to preform hand fixing surgery for the third time.... but overall good figure but the chainsaw isnt the tightest holding in place.
Bought this from HTS for my friend's son and am VERY disappointed with the QC. The matte black plastic is scratched terribly, and the slot where the chainsaw is supposed to attach is completely filled in with plastic residue, so there's no way to attach the weapon unless you get in there and dig the junk out with a knife. I haven't heard these problems reported elsewhere, so I guess we got a real lemon. Bleh!
I can't believe people still don't understand what the problem with the hands was. The position is correct, the problem was that they snapped off from being pushed too far, there was a quality problem, not a mold problem.
I still find it interesting that they didn't change the base plastic color, but flames are an awesome deco. Still, it's inexplicable to me how much toy love Lockdown gets from Hasbro considering he's a minor recurring character on the show and has no basis in G1. Probably wouldn't buy it if I hadn't declared TF Ani completionism.
Yeah. I mean, there's three Deluxes (two repaints), two Activators (one repaint) and a Bumper Battlers that will most likely be repainted. I like Lockdown, but that seems a bit excessive for a character who was only in two episodes. EDIT: Stealth Lockdown isn't a repaint, but you know what I mean.
and I can't believe there's people who still don't understand that they get pushed "too far" because hasbro's idea of a "correct" position is just plain screwed up, and most everybody expects them to be positioned normally. basically, this is hasbro screwing up and refusing to fix it. there's absolutely no reason for his hands to be stopped where they are, and even with being notified of the problem nothing was done. people shouldn't have to carve up their TFs to make sure they don't break them.
They designed the hands that way as a character trait. The reason they got broken off from being pushed too far, is because it seems the average animated fan is big handed or clumsy, or somehow can't figure out that when a piece stops moving easily, you probably shouldn't just start forcing it as hard as you can.
