Seriously they just look horrible to me, but hey if that’s cool with you. Its all yours man.
The heads all small like Beatlejuice, all deformed.
It looks like the creation matrix was drinking and smoking while pregnant with this one. | opposable thumbs = Win

Firstly, back then they had no knees or elbows.
Secondly, in this one all the parts integrate properly in altmode and robot mode. The vehicle weapons become robot weapons and then the arms and legs, while the heads are hidden in the center 'bot.
Though the G1 figures do look nice these are more impressive from an engineering standpoint.
Asthetics is in the eye of the beholder, sure, but engineering wise these are superior. |
IMO in 85 they looked a lot better.. They had Personality and at least hands, feet. These look terrible together. I really can’t understand how this even passed as a combiner. Who the hell said “yea perfect…great job make that”
They should be fired.
I will admit that the individual parts look better when in robot mode but the combination just looks wrong. It’s like it shouldn't even be a super mode for these 5.
25 years later can't make elbows and knees??
Blast off is a tank?? Who’s naming these things. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...%3DI%26otn%3D1 |

And he has elbows after a fashion depending on how he's combined.
But keep in mind that the individual robot modes are far superior to the G1 ones as well.
I will concede that the use of 3 molds rather than 5 is a bit disappointing, but knowing why they did so (it's a repaint to sell as a store exclusive) I don't begrudge Hasbro.
And I think Blast-off works better as a tank than Swindle does. I actually don't mind Swindle as a helicopter - it suggests that he managed to con his way up in the world. |

Aprim, you also have to remember that these molds were developed for Energon, where the running theme was Energon weapons. So the combiners took it a step further, and used Energon weapons that doubled as the hand/foot attachments. Some were more successful than others, but that's what you get when you're trying to develop six different vehicle integrated triple changing (Quadruple, even) weapon attachments.
And this is a store exclusive. They're not going to go all out developing new molds and re-engineering pieces for that. Your demands are so preposterous it's almost funny. |

I’m not a fan of Energon so I wouldn't know. I’m pretty much G1, and Classics.
I guess that’s why I never understood Energon/cybertron fans, the figs seemed cheep and now I see they are.
I can't understand how a decent combiner is "preposterous" for the 25th line!
Optimus Prime is a reissue for the 10000000th time at a 70-80 dollar price tag. Now that preposterous!
Wal-Mart Excusive Masterpiece StarScream,
Wal-Mart Exclusive Rumble, Ravage, Toys R Us exclusive WWI Grimlock, Prowl..
Shall I go on being preposterous or maybe do some exclusives get new molds??
It’s the 25th line, it should be awesome, not weak repaints of shitty toys. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...%3DI%26otn%3D1 |
