Hell, a space shuttle in the original Bruticus never made any sense with a bunch of military vehicles. Hasbro made due with what they had available. That being said, I would have been a lot happier if they added a couple new molds to each set. That way, they could still save on repaints of the other 3 figures, and yet still offer all unique figures per combiner. Or perhaps even share molds between sets. For instance, I have a couple Aerialbots rounding out the missing helicopters from my original Energon Bruticus Maximus. Although Bruticus is the only one that looks right with fighter jets besides Superion (the A-10's especially because I think they'd make a good Blast-Off). I still would have liked to see a jeep and some other aircraft for Bruticus and a cement mixer and dump truck for Devastator.
As for your other arguments, well some of that is just silly. The hands and feet, for instance. The fact that the Energon weapons are versatile enough to work as either is really awesome design-wise. Not only that, but they fit with the figures much better than some extra add-on hands and feet you have to have around. With the new figures, they can use the "extra" pieces as weapons in their individual robot AND vehicle modes without looking like they're carrying a big foot or hand around. Bruticus in particular has the best hands if you use the helicopters as arms. He actually has 4 fingers and a thumb, even if he can't close his hand into a fist (laser fingers, anyone?). Devastator has nice claws for tearing things apart. Superion was the only one who really suffered (and I will admit that he had the worst overall mold). So the "no hands or feet" argument is rather lame. Although I do think it would have been nice if they molded them in a solid color that fit the figures a bit better. Even a dark gray would have probably worked well.
The last argument about elbows and knees is the one I find the strangest when you compare to G1. None of the figures had elbows or knees back then. They didn't even have hip articulation. They were mostly just giant immobile bricks with hands and feet stuck on them. At least now you get full hip, knee, and shoulder articulation. And if you're creative with the transformation, you can get pretty good elbow articulation out of Bruticus and Devastator's appendages. It's not entirely designed that way, but it works. Devastor in particular has quite a lot of range with the bulldozers as arms. Superion, again, is the only one really missing out.
All things considered, the Devastator and Bruticus molds are pretty great. Superion is the only one I'd say really misses out. If they could only remake one combiner, I think it should have been him. Or at least redesign his Energon weapons. |

Wal-Mart Masterpiece Starscream was a pre-existing mold developed for mass release in Japan by Takara. Thus, pre-existing.
The TRU exclusive Titaniums were already developed before the line was scrapped. Their TRU release just meant that the figures could see the light of day. Pre-existing again.
It is quite doubtful that any TF figure short of some cheap flashlight thing or whatever will ever be developed solely for sale at one particular store chain. |

Thats the point.
I don't expect them to make a new mold for wal-mart, but make a new mold and let wal-mart have it only..That was the point.

This is today..
come on..I expected a little more..

Blast off does not work as a tank, Blast off works as an aero machine weather it be a jet or a space shuttle, thus the name Blast Off. |

I knew it was going to be ambitious to have a proper combiner in the movie style, but it's still disappointing. I was hoping for a new epic combiner to put all previous to shame. Too bad. |

And Starscream is an expensive big-ticket figure aimed at the collectors, that wasn't even developed for the US market in the first place. I have no idea where you're going with this.
And 25 year old stumpy, blocky robot with 3 points of articulation, mushy hands, giant head, parts-forming, and birthing hips that stands maybe 8" tall versus well-articulated, loaded-to-the brims-with-weaponry, 10" tall, decently proportioned robot with fully intergrated parts and in turn divides into 5 robots (3 unique robots) that are also well proportioned and fully articulated.
Hrm, no contest for me. I believe you're just letting your nostalgia blind you as to the merits of the modern figures.
[edit] A little reversal here. "Blast Off" for a helicopter? Makes even less sense than a tank. There's nothing conceivably rocket-launchy about that mold. |

What about the Alternators? Pretty popular, new molds sold only at Walmart, Robovison Prime Only at Target.. Quote:

I’m glad you like that Bruticus Maximus..
You can have it.
But In my eyes, Original Bruticus has more personality then that other 10" of craptasic plastic.
Call it what you will but that thing looks sad
