The hip plates should slot very securely inside the torso (you might need to squeeze the edges a tiny bit as you push them between their back and chest plates, as it's a very fine fit). Then the knees peg into the tabs on those hip plates.
The result is that the whole thing locks together really solidly. |

I don't try to force things, but I also don't "baby" it either. | As I noted in my review, the pegs that the hip plates attach to are WAY bigger than the gap they're supposed to fit into. Hence, any attempt to move the plates will, in general, make them pop off. For mine, getting them into the torso for jet mode requires very delicate movements, and the occasional Hail Mary. Maybe the tolerances are different on different samples, but this looks like botched engineering to me. Quote:

But yes, I'm largely referring to the robot-mode aesthetics of the Movie figures, not the vehicles. Some people like it, some people hate it, some people have mixed feelings about the Movie line. I fall into the latter category; I can admire the engineering, but still cringe at SOME of the results. (And yes, I mean that; I do plan on buying ROTF Leader Prime and Voyager Starscream, while avoiding many of the other figures.) Different strokes for different folks.
I suppose while I'm at it, I could give a shout out to the included comic book. It's a fun read ... just not worth $20+.

I'll have to try that. Thanks. |

So for me, the "botched engineering" doesn't hold up. Everything works as designed on mine. Maybe you got one with botched QC?
I mean, it sucks that you aren't able to enjoy the twins more. I personally think it's a great set. |

Only thing I like about them is the jet nosecones, reminds me of the Colonial Viper from Battlestar Galactica. The jet modes are pretty solid. The rest of it's a pile of mess, like 2 rejected Mega Man sidekicks that were blasted for being too lame.
The 4 shoulder joints (2 pegs & 2 swivel panels) won't stay locked for crap, making it pointless trying to get the goofy hands looking right.
Safeguard's ok as long as you keep a good grip around his waist, so he does'nt fall apart.
Looks kind of goofy actually.
Will keep them for awhile , give them a chance, or until I get over that $23 I spent on these floppy tardbots Don't look at my stuff!! Which is Here! XBox live gamertag- chaos muffin |
