All the feedback you'll ever need: Don't buy a Roadbot. They're crap. Crap materials, Crap paint and they're all Partsformers. Stay away.
I haven't found the materials to be any worse than those on present Transformers. They do tend towards partsforming, so you need to consider whether that bothers you. But they do offer a way to have transforming versions of a lot of cars HasTak can't do.
I bought a few of them but none of the 1:24 scale. I kind of liked the green Lambirghini I think it was 1:18 scale. Yeah, they aren't alternator quality but they are fairly inexpensive so...If the quality was just a little better I would give them a recomendation cause some of the designs are pretty cool.
Don't expect a Transformer. It's not really that design philosophy. They parts-form but they parts-form in creative ways. And yes, the materials don't "feel" like Transformers. And they have dorky faces. For the cheap price, take a shot with the 1:18 Hummer H2 or the 1:18 Lancer Evo. They rock. I was more than pleasantly surprised. Stay away from the 1:12 Ford GT.
The 1:12 Ford GT is really big! Like Barbie car big and it somewhat looks goofy but I admit, it was a lot of fun playing with it. My wife hated looking at it cause it was so big.
PM me if you want the 1:18 Hummer at a cheap-ish price. /plug I liked the roadbots I had, but I didn't really have a place for them. They aren't Transformers by any means, but they're still cool in their own speshul way.
I had two of the 1:32 and they were both cool, going to repaint them into alt minibots once I unpack them.
i like them. i have the ford gt version and he is pretty fun to pose. awesome car mode, but a bit lacking in articulation bot mode. i use the side skirts as axes and he really shines that way.
I have four of the 1/32 Roadbots. I like the car modes a lot, they do look really good and the plastic isn't cheap feeling at all. The bot modes look really poor though, have "ok" articulation, and quite a bit of part-forming is necessary. I wouldn't recommend them, they just aren't worth it and there's too much good stuff out now to even bother with them.
I just got the two new 1:24 Roadbots, the Jaguar and the Land Rover Defender. First off, I have one of the 1:18 scale, the Toyota 4Runner, and it's not a bad toy. Obvious faults, but the plastic quality is good, and for a non-mainstream company not a bad toy at all. The 1:24's appear to be similar quality, though I've not been able to play with them as much yet. Gonna put up a proper revierw of them. But some initial impressions of the Jaguar: First off, the partsforming isn't that bad, especially if you decide to forgo the gold chrome armor add-ons. The robot is complete either way, and the only real partforming is the roof becoming the shield (Which is no worse than some Alts). However, there is no ay to store the armor or weapon in the vehicle form. The tires are rubber, though the feel of it is definitely different that the rubber on Alt tires, and more or less identical to the 1:18. It's harder, and more plastic-y, but still definitely rubber. The 1:18 tires have held up perfectly well over time, so I doubt splitting or cracking will be an issue. The proportions are a tag odd, with the legs being kinda skinny and spindly, but all the points of articulation seem goos, and it stands up well on its own. Ball jointed wrists and ankles, swivelling head (No balljoint unfortunately), shouldwers arms, knees, etc. I'll have to play with it some more to see what it can do. The hands do not hav articulated fingers. Unlike the 1:18 Toyota, I like the head sculpt on this one... it fits in with the Alternator aesthetic.
