    Woot! Special Delivery!

Let's take a hike on the dark side this time.

Cyclonus is VERY cool. The lighter bits and legs are actually a flat greyish color and not nearly as beige as some early pics made it look. It's MUCh nicer in hand than I expected from official pics. Fighter mode is a nice rendition of the character:

You can see his Targetmaster partner Nightstick in that second shot, let's take a little detour and focus on him for a moment. His alt mode, clearly, is a weapon for Cyclonus:

He's a standard size TM partner, as shown here in this comparison with T Hot Rod's partner, Firebolt:

As we've already seen, he can attach to Cyclonus in jet mode, and can also be held as a rifle in robot mode:

But the fun doesn't stop there. Oh no. You can flip Cyclonus' hand in to reveal his thruster.

See that little rectangular hole in the middle? Yeah, you do. Now check out the back of Nightstick:

You guessed it, Nightstick can also plug into Cyclonus' forearm, just like he did in the Japanese cartoons.

Let's get back to the big guy himself. We mentioned before he's a futuristic space fighter, and is pretty much in scale with other aerial Decepticon deluxes:

Transformation to robot mode is a LOT more interesting than I expected. For one, the legs don't simply slide to extend, they split and pivot out and reattach below the knee:

The entire nose folds up and stores inside his back:

The arms rotate up and peg into place, and there you have it!

Robot mode is taller than the other deluxes, but pretty much in scale. Just a little taller than Galvatron, as he should be:

All in all, an EXCELLENT figure. I'll definitely be nabbing two at retail, one to do a little deco work on as Cyclonus (not going to mess with these test shots), and one to tweak a little into his armada. Get him as soon as you're able!

    Video review is up!

I have a request: If you would happen to have Titanium Scourge, would it be possible to do a group shot of all three together?

Loving the "gun arm" look. I'm probably going to use that as a "powered up" weapon mode. Direct connection to Cyclonus' nuclear core to tap into heretofore unimagined destructive energies? Whatever it is, it looks AWESOME.

Sorry guys, I don't have a Titanium Scourge to shoot pics with. If anyone in the Richmond, VA area has one they'd be willing to let me borrow, I'd happily do it (and let you play with the figs for yourself!)

Thanks for the great review :D . This is one new mold that I'm looking forward to. I like the little extra feature there with Nightstick, though this is the first time I've ever heard of it. Looking forward to your Hound review.

Great review. Cyclonus definitely looks awesome. How's his back look in bot mode? The transformation seemed to hide kibble pretty well.

He looks awesome. I really love the fact that he towers over Starscream... if only Starscream had been that big.

Not digging the colors though but they're not as bad as some of those other pictures. I'll wait to see pictures of the Takara one before deciding which one to buy.

Can we get some pics of him with the other Decepticon classics like Megs, Astrotrain?

Cool, thanks for the review and I'll definitely be getting him. I would like to ask though about the shoulder pegs. Generally I'm weary about shoulders and arms that peg into the side of the body to go into place, so are his shoulders pretty sturdy, or do they disslodge easily? They look pretty good but you never know.

Looks like an excellent mold, but I'm still disappointed by the same flat grey that ruined Classics Starscream. I'll decide which to go with once we have Henkei Cyclonus photos.

WOW! that transformation is incredible. Rare that you see something so unlike any other TF. I can't wait to get him.

and I'd second the request for Cyc, Galvy, and tit Scourge standing together.

Does Cyclonus have the slot for Nightstick on the thruster side of his left fist, too?

Awesome, I can't wait for this to be at retail. Can we get a pic of him with some other purple 'cons, like Movie Jolt, Classics Skywarp, Octane and anyone else you can think of?

I watched the video review first and then came here and I must say the colors in the pictures you took here are definitely better than what I thought from the video review. What an awesome figure ... now i have to wait patiently for them to show up in retail ... curses Peaugh! :)

Hot damn. He's a must own.

    A couple of things...

1.) They say the actual production figure will be all purple (different shades) as previously seen, these like you have, are just test shots. (Regardless of how it turns out, he's still awesome and I'd take the gray/beige just to have him.)

2.) The nosecone folding into the chest is awesome, but we've seen transformations like that before, and sometimes they have problems where the chest refuses to lock into place. (I have a feeling we're going to hear a lot of cries of "QC! QC!")

All in all, he looks terrific and I'm sold on him. Now...if he'd just come in stock locally...

They snap into place quite tightly. They aren't going anywhere until you want them to.

Yeah, I'm aware that they're test shots, they have "not for sale" and some numbers stamped into them. As for the chest, it's actually the backpack that folds up, and it gets locked into place when you snap the shoulders on. I'm REALLY impressed by the design of this figure.
