LOL toy different from the cartoon/comic. | Might have been me, I believe I mentioned that.
I DID neglect to mention that, while not as sleek, yeah, it's still pretty cool. Quote: |

I hadn't gotten far enough into the Headmasters series (I think I was watching the TVNihon sub until about episode 15 maybe?) to see the Targetmasters... only the Headmasters. Very cool, thanks for that info.

The jet mode, admittedly, isn't as sleek as the original, and it has typical jet kibble, but those are nit picks. It is still clearly Cyclonus.
The transformation is definately unique, and results in a robot mode very close to the animation model (and with Henkei, a choice of toy or show accurate colors), with oodles of articulation.
Add in the targetmaster, and this is hands down one of the best releases in the Universe/Classics series. |

Still going to wait for the Henkei version to buy though as seeing him up close has confirmed that I really dont care for the paint job Hasbro did on him, and the seemingly unpainted face thing he has going like on the original SS really bugs me. Not to mention I wish they had used a consistent silver for him instead of the gray or grayish/brownish they acually use on him, that and I'm not very found of the really dark purple. Mold wise though he pretty much met up to all expecations which was good so I very much look forward to getting the Henkei which thankfully comes out pretty soon |

Ship-mode is pretty weak, flimsy, and not really long enough imo. Robot-mode is pretty insanely awesome though - only complaint here is I wish his head was on a ball-joint.
Paint apps are pretty good, gonna need to break out some krylon for his legs and arms though. Quote:

I put my finger over the back of his head, blocking it off, and his eyes STILL lit up. TFWiki.net - We are here...We are waiting Now Accepting Commissions! |

If someone is willing to part with it or knows where I can buy one please send me a PM.

If so, your toy is possessed. Call a priest! |

Henkei Nightstick
The black remains the same as before but the face now becomes all red. The grey is lighter to match Cyclonus. The purple of the gun barrel and the legs is all chromed, mostly in silver, but the top part of the barrel is a chromed gun metal grey.
Different. Not better or worse, just different
Henkei Cyclonus
As with Nightstick some changes are made to the toy for the Henkei version: Both greys are now the same lighter grey, except for the chest sides & wings. The dark purple and the grey chest sides are all now a lilac colour. The wings are chromed purple. The clear plastic in the cockpit is still red but the lightpipe is now pink. The previously silver Decepticon symbol is purple. The chest sides now clip in very securely compared to the Universe version. I'm finding I have trouble getting Nightstick to stay in the holes on Universe Cyclonus' wrists, but both the Universe and Henkei version seem to fit the Henkei version snugly.
Choosing between them: If it comes down to display then it's purely a personal choice between the toy colours on the Universe version and the Cartoon like colours on the Henkei version. If it comes down to how they play with - well the chest sides and the better fitting wrist mounted Targetmaster make the Henkei version the one to go for.
But I will point out there were Multiple Cyclonus style jets in Galvatron's armada so my honest recommendation is this: Buy both. If you can have vastly different coloured Decepticon jets you can have slightly different coloured Cyclonus' troopers. Plus two means you can have one with a Targetmaster on each wrist !
