The jet mode has a dire need of more pegs; to compound this, the leg-segments of my Cyclonus have some QC problems and one of them won't stay parallel to the ground in vehicle mode, so the jet always looks crooked and malformed. The robot mode LOOKS incredible enough but I wouldn't say he pushes any envelopes on articulation...And what is with that one closed fist?
He's still certainly better than Cheetor, but I think Hound totally edges Cyc out. -VELOXIRAPTOR-

He's still certainly better than Cheetor, but I think Hound totally edges Cyc out. | despite my praises for cyclonus i'll agree that the vehicle is the weaker of teh two modes, he does need a bit of solidifying at the back, i'd also go for a bit less detailing, the bot however looks fantastic, the toys really are starting to become much less limited by their alt modes.
Id agree that hound is nicer overall though.
im hoping for an animated cyclonus toy, the image we had of the cartoon design suggest something that would be more simple, curved and organic like the G1 toy, think more akin to the animated blurr style, that would be awesome. |

Probably Too many :p News Credits: 3 | finally opened my Cyclonus from HTS. his bot mode really is brillant in design, just beautiful and shockingly on model. My only gripe is the stupid closed fist ~ i cannot imagine why they did that at all ~ and he could really benefit from having a bicep swivel instead of the 'below the elbow' swivel. not sure that'd actually be feasible given the construction of the arm, but it does hinders his poseability as is. Still, even those issues aside he is spectacular. huge bonus points for how the outer chest bits connect to the torso to give him his animated barrel chest.
The alt mode is more of a mixed bag ~ my main issue is he is just way to "gappy" ~ gaps between the head and cockpit, between the legs, between the wings and body, forearms and sholders... Also don't care for how "out there" his keen pads and chest details are in alt mode, they are just overly visible.
my right leg front also doesn't fold up as tightly as the left ~ it rocks back and forth an annoying amount.
All that griping aside, though, i still think it looks great, and takes the crown for "Best update of a crappy G1 toy EVAH!!!" away from Silverbolt (i like Silverbolt, but Cyclonus's Transformation just absolutely PWNS him. and makes him seem like a lazy design to me.)
i also love the deco, this is one case were i think Hasbro totally trashed Takara ~ Lavenderclonus just looks silly.
and add all that awesome and he STILL gets a Targetmaster!!! Targetmasters were always my favorite of the "masters" and Nightstick is a great update. in a perfect world i'd love him to have knees and ball jointed shoulders, but he's solid as-is for his size. teh 'plug into Cyclonus's hand' action is just icing on the cake! (if we were getting one more wave of Universe i'd have loved to see Hot Rod re-released with a new Firebolt)
I rank Cyclonus an A (a rare grade from me) less gappy in Alt mode and he might have made A+ "all the slammin' shorties in the house say "yeah!""

The leg halves that go on the underside of the jet still rock around on their joints a bit, but along the top the jet mode feels more solid and less prone to mushyness or the tendency to come apart easily. News Credits: 6 | I picked up Cyclonus earlier today and this figure is as good as I expected. Vehicle mode is decent, but the robot mode makes up for that. Robot mode is solid and does not fell flimsy at all. The part that I really like is the red glow of its eyes. It really stands out. I purchased it at a K-Mart for $10.99 and I do not fell I overpaid. Cyclonus is a real impressive figure (for a deluxe) with outstanding posse ability. Purchase it if you can. |

Even though alt mode doesn't peg together, mine seems tight enough where nothing really flops out of place. While I prefer the uber-sleekness of the G1 design, this is an acceptable version and looks very killer.
Transformation is simple yet has enough steps and new ways of doing things to be satisfying and fun. Bot mode is where most of the goodness is. The proportions, articulation, everything. He has so much character. Even the unpainted parts didn't bug me as much as I thought they would, but I did have to take a silver Sharpie out and paint his face, horns and needle nose. I highly suggest doing this, it's easy and looks remarkable.
Even though I'm quite happy with the Hasbro version, I'm still eager to get the Henkei version. I'm typically a one-mold-only sort of collector, but I like this mold enough to buy it a few more times. Plus the Henkei looks so damn sexay in all that lavender. |

Mine seems to be fine, though there are a couple small blotches of paint on him and Nightstick. One on one of Cyclonus's wings, and one on Nightstick's head. Both should be easy to get rid of though. Other than that they are pretty much perfect. Joints are nice and tight without being too tight. Only small gripe I can think of is that one of Cyclonus's arm assemblies doesn't click into his torso as tightly as the other, and thus it's a little too easy to unattach to transform back into alt-mode. Now that I have him, I'm actually hoping we somehow get at least one repaint of this guy, if not more. I could see myself buying this mold over and over again like I have the Classics Seeker mold, which I bought another copy of tonight. Quote:
