Finally picked this guy up on sale. I'm so behind the times.

I did buy a Starscream right when Animated first hit but it was missing his thumbs so I returned it and they didn't have another to swap it for. Since then I'd not come across another in shops unless it was an imported one which cost more than I wanted to shell out.
Anyways, after opening this guy in the shop to check he had his thumbs, head and flaps (after getting him for cheap I didn't want to have to spend petrol and parking to take back a faulty one and eat that saving away) he's now happily stood on my desk next to MP Skywarp.
The Automorph on mine works great - the Starscream I had before would pop his head off I did the mechanism and was a bugger to stick back on. This one is nice and sturdy and the head stays in place.
Nothing is overly loose in robot mode, and in fact his hip joints are rather stiff, but that does mean trying to pose him results in the thigh swivels popping out unless I take care.
The flaps on his back I'm not going to bother opening for robot mode as they just pop off and I don't want to lose them. Leaving them closed doesn't really affect the figure in any way. Thumbs seem pretty secure but I might just glue them in place to be sure I don't lose them.
Jet mode stays together well, although it did take a bit of massaging to get everything squared away right. Those knees just didn't want to slot into place behind the wings.
Paint looks quite clean, with only a few light scuffs here and there. Nothing to ruin my enjoyment.
All in all, after the problems I had with Starscream right out of the box, this guy restores my generally good feelings about the figure. He's not the best
TF:A figure but he's not the worst. I shall enjoy having this guy cowering behind his Masterpiece cousin.
