I recently bought the Takara Complete Collection from Metrodome(?) and I love it. I also liked Chris' commentary. I really wanted to say thank you to Chris for doing a great job on the commentary. :thumbs2:

For those who don't know, the set consists of the three Japanese seasons of Transformers; Headmasters, Super-God Masterforce, and Victory. eadmasters replaces season four (the three episodes of 'Rebirth') of the American release. The set also includes the only episode of Transformers:Zone.

It cost me around $75 shipped from England. American viewers will need a region free DVD player to watch it.

    The good:
-Nice looking set, easy to manipulate (unlike the Chinese box set of the first 3 American seasons)/ Each season has it's own case, with 4 to 5 discs per season.
    - All episodes (excluding clip shows from Headmasters I think) are included
    - Commentaries on three episodes per season by Chris McFeely were entertaining and informative. The Highlights for me were the comparisons of the Western toys and the Japanese only toys in Masterforce.
    - The inclusion of the Zone episode w/ commentary was a win.

    The Bad
    - The English dubs of Headmasters. Epically bad, but worth a listen to get a laugh.
    - Would have liked more jump points in all seasons. Headmasters had three, one to the end of the opening credits, one to the beginning of the end credits, and the last was to the start of the next episode. Masterforce and Victory only had jumps to the start of each episode. I would have liked to have seen jump points to each commercial break and the opening / closing credits.

My only real criticism is that I wish there was more commentaries on the episodes, instead of only three episodes per season. Another commentator would have been nice to have a different view point. Where was Hitch? Don't you Europeans all know each other? :)

I remember in one episode Sixshot says to Lord Zarak "I'm going to betray you. Heh. Heh. Heh." Or something like that. Much lulz were had.

Thanks for your review. I might pick this up. :)

I just won the Headmasters set on Ebay to replace the crappy bootleg dub I've had. And it's almost so bad that it isn't funny.

I'm very much looking forward to seeing it in the original Japanese.:thumbs2:

So Season 1-3 of G1 are the English ones?

Sounds like a pretty sweet set.

Think thats bad? On the spanish dub (dubbed in L.A.), while generally accurate to the bad English dub (yeah i know), on the last episode of Headmasters, apparently they lost the script or something and started to talk random lines just to fill the animation!

For example, Zarak tells Sixshot he is going to conquer "Argentina" and then, the world!
