First of all, apologies for slight grain and poor light.

I'm sure everyone is dying to know this: NO MORE smudgy paint! The paint app on mine is PERFECT. I decided to whing it and run my thumb through his door a few times, and the paint stayed.

Overall the figure has a very smooth finish. He does feel a little bit "greasy" but it could be the gloss.

There were some complaints about loose joints (esp. his head) and I'm glad to report there are none on mine. In fact, Henkei Prowl has some firm and tight joints, which can be a good or bad thing. But overall much more solid than Hasbro's TFU Prowl (the one I have at least).


Don't you think Prowl kinda looks... feminine? The way he's drawn.

Highly recommend him over the Hasbro version. If you held out on Hasbro Prowl, then Henkei Prowl is THE ONE, no doubt about it.

 

hmmmm too bad the paint isnt a lil better applied otherwise it would be an instant buy for me. I already fixed the smudgy bits on my hasbro one....

But it does look top notch.

I've been on the fence about Prowl and SS since their release. SS still doesnt interest me but these pics are swaying me on Prowl.

 

Looks great but I'll stay with my Hasbro Prowl that I got two months ago. I plan to spend my money on more Hasbro repaints like Bluesteak.

 

I like the chromed rifle. The launchers don't bother me, because Prowl doesn't have shoulder-mounted launchers. And the spoiler gets a big "WTF?" So overall... I'll stick with my Hasbro one.

Literally stick with it thanks to that smegging paint.

 

Great review Solitud & nice pixs too. hmm..i might consider getting this one after the disappointment i had w/my Hasbro Prowl. also i like chrome too  .

 

Is Universe Prowl's paint really that bad? I'm paying overseas shipping either way, so the difference between the two when it comes to total price is negligible.

Almost forgot to ask, I'm not a completist and I collect only G1 season 1 and 2 characters so I want to know how Prowl will look like next to classic 1.0 figures and G1 figures? Can someone please post some photos? One of the reasons I love classics 1.0 figures is that they're as close as posible in height to their G1 counterparts.

 

sorry to break this to you, but classics prowl is WAY bigger then g1 prowl lol *g1 is such a small toy*...

 

OK with G1 Prowl, but I would really like to see Henkei/Universe Prowl beside other G1 figures, mainly Optimus and other main G1 Autobots. A head taller or shorter when compared to other G1 Autobots is no problem for me.

 

what the hell happened to all the molded in detail on the lightbar???

 

At least g1 light bars are easy to mount to the mold.

me too. I painted the launchers and the gun silver and it looks more than nice enough. Sure I like Chrome, but its not the be-all, end-all either. And I only had to pay 9.99 - 10% plus sales tax for mine, versus paying $24 plus shipping for a Henkei just to get those chromed pieces.

 

great review again   looks very nice, and very good to see that it doesnt have the smudgy paint job..actually, there was no way in hell another batch of prowl figures made elsewhere would have that problem, but this confirms it   like henkei sunstreaker, i'll have to pass on this too...but who knows, i might pick it up later

From what I heard, yes. My Hasbro Prowl does not seem to have the smudgy paint problem though. However, I only transformed him once and left him in a Detolf, so I'm not really sure if mine has the problem.

TFU/Henkei Prowl fits perfect with the Classics 1.0 figures. As for G1 figures, well, it's passable.
