He's very cool and he along with purple astrotrain [amazing figure] is what ultimately led me to purchase all the henkeis. Excellent job from takara.

yeah, i'd actually call Hot Rod by far the worst Henkei ~ the chrome spoiler looks ridiculous (and i generally am a chrome fan) and the orange chest sticker just glaringly out of place.

why the eff they aren't doing the chrome on the wheels on the autobot cars instead of the spoilers is completely beyond me. I have Speedbreaker right in front of me, and his shiny wheels look amazing. Roddy here could have got a chrome engine too...

and agreed, Megatrons shiny chest ROCKS (everything about Henkei Megs rocks, he makes the classics version totally irrelevant)

 

I just cant get excited about a little more chrome or metallic paint to justify buying the same toys all over again! Hasbro version is fine with me

Everything else looks just fine & nice..with the exception of the gold chrome spoiler. i didn't dig that too much but at least the japanese bothered enough to add an autobot logo in front of the car. which the classics version lacked.

Since i already have the original Hasbro Classics version, i'll pass.

 

I like everything about Henkei Hot Rodimus except the chrome spoiler. The chrome makes the spoiler looks almost orangish, where straight yellow would've been better.

I'd only get it to do a parts-swap.

There's also one screw for the center section of the spoiler as well.

As for Henkei Rodimus, it's an easy pass. The only Henkei figures I've gotten or plan to get are the repaints like Megatron and Astrotrain. For $25 + shipping, a few spots of extra/different paint and some chrome bits isn't enough to warrant my money.

 

I dont have him anymore  but i'll steal my bro's for some comparisons)
