Henkei Classics Grimlock

So i took the plunge and got him today.(Henkei figures are available at retail here, and cost the same as regular Hasbro versions) I'm not the biggest fan of the mold, something about the dino head becoming the legs don't exactly sit right with me. Anyway, here he is in dino mode:

Look at all that chrome! Almost feels a little tacky, doesn't it?

After playing with him abit, it seems that the figure still has some difficulties standing in poses without falling down. Perhaps the hip joints need to be a bit tighter, but i really think its the feet that make it unbalanced. This was the best i could come up with:

Some things i love about this version, he has more red on him. Call it a more G1 color scheme if you will, but he looks better now. Also, the chrome bothers me alot less when he's in robot mode. More paint apps in the mouthpiece, and that autobot logo in the chest really does wonders for him!

Kinda wish the screws on the shoulders were on the other side though.

Overall, i'd say i'm quite happy with this figure. was initially planning to swap the arms and legs with the Hasbro version to take out the chrome, but i'm going to leave it as it is. Looking foward to getting Henkei Prime and Bumblebee next week!
