Universe 2.0 Galvatron Review/Thoughts

The character known as Galvatron was one of several introduced in the first Tranformer film back in '86. Since then, he's floated through relative obscurity with the only usage of the name being Megatron repaints during the Unicron Trilogy.

Now, with the New Universe giving life to long-forgotten characters, Galvatron has been given another chance at life!

Galvatron's Vehicle Mode is a tank. Its a reasonable upgrade from his original "cannon" form to a modern-day weapon. The code "GALV-25" is printed on the side of the turret. Galvatron's cannon has a missile- with a serious hair trigger.

Transformation is fairly complex for a Deluxe. It seems to be easier to remove both Robot arms before finishing the process.

Galvatron's Robot Mode retains most of the details from his original incarnation- crown, purple coloring, orange arm cannon, red abs.... its extremely faithful to G1.

Articulation is high-quality. The back-kibble makes standing a tiny bit difficult, but with the right poses that can be overcome. Galvatron's size is somewhat noticeable- part of me thinks that he would be more impressive at a larger scale. But he does look good alongside Classics Hot Rod or Titanium Rodimus.

Galvatron was the mold I most anticipated in Universe 2.0, and I can thankfully say that I have not been disappointed. He's a great Deluxe and a fantastic update to the infamous raging lunatic.
Having no reasons to live is no reason not to live.

My gawd.... he is tiny. Looks like he's the same size as Classics Starscream in bot mode.

Wow when compared to classics Megs I can see how tiny he really is. Nonetheless I can't wait for this fig. G1 Galvatron is my fave character and I've been waiting a while for a new version of him.

Nice review. As long as he's close to the size of deluxe Cyclonus or Rodimus that's fine w/ me.

Holy crap he's small.

This just went from 'passive pick up' to 'total pass'.

Eh, if you think of him as an upgrade to Classics tank Megatron, he makes more sense. Still, he's the worst new mold Universe deluxe. He's not even a match for Tankor.
