I'm trying to decide if I want to drop $30 for a second version of Powerglide. I want one that's the same colors as my old mini bot, but that's a lot of money for a repaint, when the original figure should have just been red to begin with.

I was looking at the more accurate one in person and the colors look funny. the red is bright and the white is somewhat grey, it was enough to change my mind on purchasing it for now.

I was wondering whether the red US version is worth purchasing too, as I had been considering importing the Henkei one once the price drops a bit.

Do any owners of the Henkei version that have seen this new one have opinions in terms of preference?

Both are good in their own way. The Henkei Powerglide is best described as the same as the original Universe one, but with most of the red and off-white colors reversed. The new red Univ. Powerglide has less paint detail overall, but a more "g1-ish" color arrangement (red body and legs, gray arms and thigs, where henkei has mostly red arms and more gray spread around the body)

How the Animated toy line REALLY came to an end

i grew up knowing a powerglide that is not very tall, and not very white so i skipped on him. But i wanted to give the mold a try so i picked up stormcloud and i am very glad that i did.

Thanks for the input. After reading your posts, I looked up more online pics and checked out the review here in the feedback section for the Henkei. I'm starting to prefer the Henkei, but never noticed the better G1 scheme of the US version. Decisions...

I picked up both the Henkei version and the new Wal-Mart one as I just love this mold. (flaws and all)

If some of you are sitting on the fence about spending $30 for the proper colors for 'ol Powerglide, you could always refer to the white one as Hot House. Then set up a small display of former Micromasters turned regular bots in Universe.

Good idea; "Hot House" will be positioned next to Countdown once I get this new Powerglide.

I haven't opened mine yet, but he is perty.
i hope the over-tightened screw issue was fixed.

now i will have to transform Powerglide A to alt and Transform G1-ish Powerglide here to bot mode for display.
