The lack of articulation and a decent looking vehicle mode really hurts the figure.

 

Which are you talking about Bumblebee or Prime ? Man only 49.99 damn thought he was 60. I will be so buying him. And where did you get that Bumblebee one ?

I'm not too fond of the huge 'drip tray' on his arse, or the ugly shoulder joints.
And really the Animated design looks less worth the price the bigger it gets. At least bigger versions of other non-Animated figures get more detail and more involved transformations. This guy is just too plain and the bigger size shows it up horribly.

 

Wow, he's missing paint apps from the Voyager version. The heels of his boots are not colored black and neither are his forearms.

 

The Leader Bulkhead has a similar problem where it doesn't have the black apps on the techy strips on his 'wings' like the Voyager one has.

 

I guess they thought that having the axe hanging off the back of the vehicle mode ruined the chances of a good vehicle mode so they didn't bother to have the black

 

I bought him a few days back form a local Walmart and ended up putting it on ebay right after I opened it. He has about as much articulation as a brick and in vehicle mode, he's very shaky, and his front wheels don't stay in place. A 50.00 piece of crap I think but if others like it that's awesome too, just not for me I guess. Bring on Magnus!

 

Is it just me, or does it look like Bumblebee should be shuffling along behind Optimus, wringing his hands and saying 'Yesssss master! I'll get the brains for the experiment master! Yessssss!'

 

UGH. I looked through -22- of these things at different stores trying to find
-just one- that did not have screwed up paint apps.

When I finally settle on one just to have the beeping thing ... and I get home, I notice he only says TWO phrases. AggghhhhH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh, and the paint apps where screwed up in the right front grill (grrrrrrr).

 

This is a big, ugly, way-too-lacking-in-details-for-the-size hunk of plastic. It looks like one of those knock-offs where they took a basic sized figure and blew up to twice the size. The only thing that's cool about this figure are the speech gimmicks, and they can't save it from all the other issues.

 

I got this guy as well.He looks good but thats about it.His articulation sux.I was gonna take him back but i decided to keep him.

 

i read some of the reviews on optimus they seem pretty harsh it's just a toy. anywho
i got one today at my local wm i like it i think it is a pretty kick a$$ figure

 

No kidding. Some of these comments are just crazy. (and not in a good way, in fact, in a very bad way)

I haven't actually bought it but I did see it in a store. It's got some weight to it and it's pretty neat. I like the features I've seen in video and the axe is amazing. (I was tempted to buy it just for the axe  )

 

I promised myself to wait on $40 and above figures unless I got a deal on them. This one was even iffier since it wasn't as detailed as, say, Unicron for the price. Finally got him over the weekend though. BJs Wholesale club had them for xmas for $47 and then lowered the price to $27 right after. There was one left at my local store and the tag was reduced to $16 so I said "what the heck." Even better though, he rang up at $12.

Overall, not bad. Yes he's not that articulated, but honestly, if I had known I was going to get him at all, I would have passed on getting Voyager prime.
