He looks cool, but there are some annoying structural flaws. With the two Classic triple changers we got two good modes and one with some compromises. Blitzwing has compromises in all three modes.
The jet mode looks good from above, but the undercarriage makes Movie Starscream look sleek. The visible tank treads really detract from this mode. It doesn't help that the mode doesn't really lock together tightly - the rear section doesn't hold into the feet well, and the treads don't lock into place at all.
Tank mode looks more solid, and is kind of cute at its size. But again, the mode really suffers from an inability to really lock together. The turret also locks onto the wings far too tightly. The first couple of times I tried to separate them it felt like they were glued - and when I eventually got them apart I'd made several stress marks appear. I've found out how to get them apart more easily, but it seems to be a common issue.
Robot mode is good, too, and the Man-E-Faces gimmick works nicely. Articulation is good, but the lack of ball joints still leaves it feeling limited. There are some very nice sculpted details, though. Easily the strongest of his three modes.
Not my favorite Animate toy, and definitely inferior to Classics Astrotrain and Universe Octane. |

With all the bad things I'm hearing, plus the ugly placement of the wings, nub-cannons, flat arms and birthing hips I'm seriously considering skipping this guy. But I want to complete my Animated collection. |

Octane may have some issues, but overall he's an incredibly fun toy. Blitzwing I tend to find more fiddly and annoying than fun. I really wish there was some way to lock the treads into place in his alt modes, that would improve him greatly in my opinion. |

News Credits: 1 | Aren't there tabs on his feet or something that locks the treads in? The page back mentions something about them. Of course, I don't own him, so I wouldn't know. |

I think Blitzwing is a fun toy despite all the odd quirks, It's a multichanger so of course the aesthetics would be kinda wonky.
The mama hips are just to emulate that baggy pants look he has. SJ's Feedback |

There is nothing locking the treads into place in tank mode. |
