Interesting... Mine came with two slits at the top of the cape. I have no problems with it clearing the back kibble using the top-most slit. I don't have any paint flaking issues either, but yes, the cape started fraying the minute I put it on.

Could an iron get those fold out of the cape?

Totally love the set. They did a great job reproducing the overall look from the movie. It made an already badass toy even cooler looking! I wish the cape was a bit bigger but thats a very small complaint.

Yes but you might want to put something between the iron and the cape since it's very thin.

Missed out on buying a MP Starscream and walmart. I would also like to get a MP Skywarp. What would be a good online price? I know I can not get one for $50 now. Skywarp was what $80 when he was released. I found a site that has Starscream for $80 and Skywarp for $90. Good????

I got both the Screamer and the Skywarp sets today; I'm at work though so I can't take a closer look until I get back home. In-package impressions: I'm disappointed. The trays are both filled with flaked-off gold paint. Not a good sign... Sloppy paintjob on both crowns. They'll look like crap up close. Skywarp's shoulder pieces seem to have some white "goo" on them. Hopefully I can clean it off with a q-tip. I'm very glad that I pre-ordered these at $14.95 before they jacked up the price, 'cus they seem to be totally not worth the money. I'll post a better review once I get home tonight and can examine them properly.

I'm pretty happy with mine. I don't handle it much, so I didn't have any paint come off yet. Well worth $14.95, tho (I ordered it before the hike).

Sorry to hear about the paint issues some of you have had. I've had the set for a couple weeks, no complaints here. I'm really happy with it.

After waiting some two and a half months, I finally got my coronation sets today. I had high hopes for these sets ever since I first saw the teaser pics the makers posted. An awesome idea; to make Starscream look like he did in Transformers: the movie, when he crowned himself emperor! I opened the box, and disappointment came swiftly.... The boxes look great, but the first thing I noticed is that the Skywarp box set looks exactly the same as the Screamer one. It doesn't even say "Skywarp coronation set". It says "Screamer coronation set". They're identical in every way, except for the parts themselves. More on that later.

The shoulder bits and the crown are nicely displayed, but already here, before even opening the package, I got the biggest disappointment of all.... You could easily tell that the paint job was a sloppy one, and the gold paint is already flaking! There were bits of gold paint in the entire box! The crowns are gold with red respective black jewels depending on what set it is, but the original gold paint bleeds through in several places. *sigh* I also quickly noticed that the left shoulder piece for Skywarp had some white "goo" on it (which later turned out being white and gold paint...).

I opened the boxes and put the parts on their respective owners. No complaints there. They fit perfectly and slide into place with minimal effort. Right. Ok, so Starscream's shoulder parts are purple and gold, while Skywarp's are black and purple. They fit very well with the original colors on these guys. Except for the very poor paint job, they could have been part of the original accessories. They're THAT well-made. On to the cape:

It's the same color for both Screamer and Skywarp. No surprises there. I (again...) immediately noticed something was wrong... Both capes are made of the thinnest fabric I've ever seen. It looks like it would break if I as much as touched it. And it did.... It started fraying on all the edges as soon as I unfolded it. *sigh*

After some cursing and fiddling, I got the capes attached to both MPs. It looks stunning, except for a couple of things... The cape was folded and put into the backing card. Thanks to that, the creases in the fabric are almost permanent, which makes the cape look extremely ridiculous from behind. I thought about ironing the capes to straighten them out, but I'm afraid of destroying them even if I put something between the capes and the iron. They're just too thing and delicate to survive a procedure like that. The hip kibble has to be folded down against the legs. Otherwise the cape looks extremely ridiculous. You can't really pose the figures anymore, 'cus then the cape looks extremely ridiculous. Now I have two cool-looking, but extremely "bricky" Masterpiece figures.

I'm very disappointed with these sets quality-wise, but otherwise they look good. I'm very glad that I pre-ordered early so I got the sets at $14 each, because they're nowhere near worth the $25 or whatever they cost now. They're hardly worth $14 either...

you can't fault them for the creases in the cape, man. An item folded for shipment is going to have those no matter what. And its super easy to get rid of anyway, I ironed mine on the lowest setting and they came right out.

bigpete, where did you get them? Have you tried to exchange? I just checked my SS set, it is fine.

If it was BBTS or TFSource or whoever, man, ask for an exchange, maybe even have them check the replacement set.

And yes, just barely turn on the iron, and the creases come out. Same thing with SWTF Death Star Vader's cape.

Well, if they had rolled the cape instead of folding it, there wouldn't be any creases to begin with. But it's good to know that you can actually iron the creases out. As I sad, I thought the capes were too delicate for that, but I'm gonna try it later.

I got both sets from Digital-Toys. Might shoot them an e-mail later today if I have the time.
