It's a very nice figure, quite big, and got a lot of comparisons with the G1 Grimlock.
The sword is very big and cool. I's gotta sort of minicon gimmick in it. When you press it in his hand, the flames pop out. There's a button in his neck that opens the mouth in dinomode when you press it. He's got a lot of posability. Only thing you cannot rotate is his elbow, but you can rotate his underarm, so no problem there. Now a lot of people were wondering if his "dinoknees" were able to slide up into his upper arm. Yes, they can. In the previous photos we saw he just wasn't properly transformed. His robotmouth cannot open. When in dinomode, his chest is open and you can see his robothead. It would be cooler if that was all closed.
I haven't been able to find out if the sword can be stored somewhere in dinomode, but I don't think it can. I also made a pic with Voyager Prime as a height comparison.
I'm off to play again, if you have some questions, just ask.
Enjoy the pics!!!
UPDATE: some new request pics
comparison with deluxe Prime and a G1 Slag junker
The sword gimmick: When you attach the sword into his hand, the flames pop out. The slide in the middle of the sword turn the flames back in.
Here you can see the tiny button that triggers the flames, kinda like the minicons. Home is where my collection is!

Being able to see his robot head in dino mode is weird. Seems like there should be a flap there or something... |

That seems like a huge oversight in the design if that's the way it is, there looks to be plenty of room to fit a covering flap in there somewhere.
Mine will be getting modded if that's the case.

He may be a little short, but like Bulkhead and Lugnut, he makes up for it with bulk. The open chest cavity in dino mode is a bit disapointing, but not something that'll stop me from getting him when he comes out. Just curious, any chances of a size comparison with a non-Animated figure? Classics Grimlock would be a great choice to compare this figure with, imo. It's really awesome that we're getting all these Animated reviews, but it's hard to imagine something when you don't have anything to compare it to. Thanks if that's possible. I'm hoping that we also get an Activator version of Grimlock in the line at some point. Quote:

Very nice, though i kinda wish the maroon was more red. |
