animated grimlock is pretty sweet.Though his articulation compared with other animated figures is subpar, but not as bad as snarl's though.
I like Grimlock, but I think mine has a defect. The parts that form his feet and become his heels in robot mode don't stay in together on his right foot, no matter how hard I try. The other one just snaps into place just fine. Is anyone else having this problem?
YouTube - Rushed Review: Animated Grimlock My typical quick take on this figure. (Hint: I really like him!)
Thankfully my figure is just fine. All joints are nice and tight, he's surprisingly poseable [excellent leg and very good arm articulation] and I didn't encounter the arms transforming problem everybody talks about.
Dino mode is cool , but not too solid. Robot mode is pretty good, just wish the back kibble locked into place somewhere. This toy is a whole lot more fun than I thought he'd be, both modes have a strange addiction to them. Sword is awesome, reminds me of a flaming buster sword pics front/back package http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v148/loebig/TF Animated/AGrimlock.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v148/loebig/TF Animated/AGrimlock1.jpg
It does. The whole thing tabs together with just the wings remaining with articulation. The head and dino back both tab down very securly.
this... just look at the instructions or an online review if u cant get it...its an awesome figure...i just wish the head was better hidden, in dino mode
The head is hidden fine. Seriously, before I got this guy I was all worried about the dreaded peekaboo Grimlock head. When i got it I was like: "This is it? Thios is teh dreaded gap and unhidden head?" Seriously, his Head's black and you can't even see it in there if there's no direct light pointing at it.
Had him for a while and he is definitely my favorite of the Dinobots and the animated figs in general, hoping we get 2 more Dinobots to make a 5 Dinobot team.
This happened to me too. You see that the heel piece is held onto the foot by a maroon double-joint? Look on the inner-elbow of the maroon joint, and your faulty heel piece will have some excess plastic on top. It might look like someone at Hasbro took it off the sprue and didn't bother sanding the piece. Take a nail file or nail clipper and just take off a bit of plastic. It took me 10 seconds. Now, both heel pieces fit just fine. I also had to do the Grimlock arm fix. Don't get me wrong, Animated are my favorite TF toys for years, but it's so disappointing that I have to alter so many of them just to bring them to basic functionality. This applies to pretty much all recent TF releases (Wal Mart-Scream, U Powerglide, Blackout...)
Finally got a Grimlock yesterday while at K-mart. I would have waited till I got to Target, because of the sale, but knowing my luck I would get there, and they wouldn't have any Grimlocks, or any other TF's out that I want to get. When I did get to Target they did have a good amount of TF's left, but no Grimlocks. He's a great toy, and I can't wait to get Swoop so I have all three of them. I also can't wait to get MP Grimlock, thus giving me a total of three Grimlocks. Here's hoping this guy get's more time in the cartoon. Maybe even battle a Decepticon for once. Would be kinda cool to see how the Dinobots would act while on Cybertron, imo.
Grimlock is awsome. Easiest Animated TF I got so far. Could be better. I just hope they don't screw him up in season 3(like make him a decepticon or something). 10/10
Gah - I picked up this figure today and I can't get his elbows to slide in properly. I tried to take the upper arm apart and see what needs to be done so I don't just force it and break it, but it seems to be securely glued together or something. Anyone got a photo of the inside of the upper arm so I can see what I'm supposed to do?
