got this figure a few days ago, he's basically a heavilly modded Cybertronian Prime but he's more solid and less poseable. he's a great buy and although him and Megs are my only Animated, I think this will be a good year for Transformers :D

Ok so please humour me but I have finally managed to get my hands on the Battle Begins two pack from TRU in Southampton UK (what a pain that was).

Prime's waist just doesn't line up. The twisty gadget never allows it to face front at all, it stops just short. It certainly goes backwards a fair way but despite using a little force it just refuses to line up. Annoying in robot mode but it means his legs are totally misaligned for vehicle mode. Is mine faulty or is the waist gimmick just fitted back to front?

Cheers for any help or advice, have screwdriver - can disassemble without fear.

Just got the Battle Begins set. Hurray!!! Very nice figure, quite a different feel compared to the Cybertron Mode Prime. The only problem is the waist gimmick. Not working well and ruins the otherwise perfect figure. The leg joints are a bit loose though

I think this Prime is much closer to the show alt-mode wise. Lately Prime has had a very skinny flat cab, unlike the curvy boxy voyager, which is almost like Cybertron Prime.

I would love to get this guy if they released him alone, without the faceplate.

Not even close. This one is pretty much a full cab, looking something like an Animated-style Powermaster Prime cab.

The Animated "cab" is the front chunk of a fire engine, with both sets of wheels very close to each other. It should be very stout.

Yeah, all I'm saying is that in the last couple of episodes Prime looks a lot more like a truck cab than a firetruck. Almost G1.

I absolutely love everything about this Prime. I don't mind the battle damage. He is just so awesome. Nice posability, and it's amazing how he can transform from a brutish looking robot into such a sleek seemless truck! Also he gets bonus points for being able to hold his axe two-handed.

Unless he's actually got the fire engine trailer with him, without the emergency lights on top, there would be no real way to tell he's supposed be the front end of a fire truck and not in fact a semi cab like G1 prime. Cybertron Prime had the same issue, very little about that said "fire truck". RiD Prime is the only fire truck Prime that really looks like a fire truck even after you separate the front end bit from the trailer/armor kibble.

Of course the main reason is they decided to have a "theme" of emergency vehicles for the original group of Autobots, which is why Bumblebee and Prowl also have essentially superfluous emergency lights.

The spring thing bothered me so I took the 3 screws out from his ass area and pulled out the spring. No more springy action!

This is truth. One thing that's always botehred me is that people keep saying he's a semi outfitted as a firetruck, when that's not true, since he scanned a replicated a full fire engine, it was Teletran 1 that decided to segment him and his "trailer" so he didn't have kibble-galore.

Excellent figure, one hell of a remold. Basically G1 Prime shoved in to Animated, and I love it.

Anyone notice the figure is significantly loose than the Cybertronian version?

Good grief, how tight must the Cybertronian version be?

Mine is so tight I had trouble transforming him back from cab mode. To be perfectly honest, I didn't buy this figure as much as it came with the Megs figure I wanted, however, I'm quite impressed by him. It's a nice solid figure with a neat Transformation scheme.

Mainly in his joints, the chest on my battle begins version is just as tight, if not tighter, but his joints are looser than the Cybertron version.
