Pleasantly surprised with this guy; missed out on the Dreadwing mold and only really picked this guy up for completion of the movie line. He's a lot taller than I thought he'd be, and I think he's a little more interesting than Stockade (who I picked up at the same time). The legs are puny, but at least it keeps in theme with Starscream's gimpy appendages.

Just caved on buying this figure after originally not planning to buy any of the Allspark power line (I WILL be getting Cliffjumper, Stockade and Landmine too now though), and Im nicely suprised by him. Love the colourscheme (IMO so much better than Dreadwing's) and the flaming arms.

I got Overcast the other day, based entirely on his colour, and the fact I didn't want Stockade. He is the sex, even with his weird head and legs.

Picked up Overcast last weekend. Was impressed as the new colors look good. Also looks good next to my Dreadwing. Kinda like two evil twins ready to drum up some trouble.

    Transformers The Movie Overcast

Vehicle Mode: Based off a Mig-29 Fulcrum fighter, there are four colours present in the alt mode. Coloured predominantly black, it has fluro yellow highlights on the leading edge of the wings and tail fins, on the jet engines, and the canopy is fluro yellow clear plastic. The bright 'Allspark' blue is only present in this mode as the triggers for the missiles/afterburner jets to launch. Finally, silver is present on vent details on the fuselage, the Decepticon symbols on the wings, the jet engines, and a band on the nosecone. The undercarriage kibble is quite horrific on this mold. Essentially it's his biceps and entire legs that he's carrying under the jet there, and it really doesn't work at all unless you're pretending that he's carrying a sensor pod or similar, and in fairness the designers have made the legs to fold up under the body to look like this. Due to the large amount of kibble, there is no landing gear. There is a lot of detail present in this mode - rivets and panels along the fuselage and the wings, a seat inside the cockpit, and reasonably well detailed engines. Essentially it's nicely detailed, but it really has awful kibble issues.

Transformation: Different to anything else before it really. Quite detailed and reasonably intricate in part. There's a lot of stuff that gives the owner choice on their own individual transformation - stuff like the positioning of the 'ears', whether you extend the wings, position of the fail fins and whether you open the jet engines leave a lot of stuff up to the end user.

Robot Mode: Wide shoulders, big arms, short legs, and a lens face. The character or Dreadwing, of which this is a repaint, was initially conceived as a drone and this mold gives the impression of a strong but not intelligent or nimble warrior. However, this does mean that the robot mode is fairly top heavy, and leg poseability is quite poor practically as it will generally lead it to fall over. No new colours are apparent in this mode, but more of the Allspark blue is visible, with it mainly being used for joints. Unlike other 'Allspark' repaints, the blue actually works here for my money. Poseability is in all honestly limited by the top heaviness and way the arms are jointed for transformation. There are a lot of joints there, but more of them are hindered by kibble. Ball joints are in the neck, shoulders, and twice in the elbows. Universal joints in the hips, and an oddly configured univeral joint in the knee that allows forwards and backwards, and side to side motion. Some new details become apparent in this mode - faux cockpit and turbine on his chest. Some of the techno detail on his wings are brought out by what is either a deliberate wash effect or poor application of the fluro yellow paint onto black plastic. The flame missile fire out of each of his 'claws' (which he has instead of hands, a la Armada Thrust). Overall robot mode is really well detailed, and looks nice for what it is, a drone, but is undone by poor poseability and top heaviness.

Gimmicks/Weapons: Missiles in the shape of flames fire out of the jet engines, which become his claws/hands in robot mode. They can be left in there for a fairly good action pose, either making the jet look like it's burning along, or the robot look like it's indulging in some hot flamethrower action.

Overall: The colours are really nice, it's well detailed, and the robot mode looks really nice aesthetically. However, it's undone by a top heavy and poorly poseable robot mode, and an a jet mode with a load of kibble. I really quite like this figure personally, but I can't really give it more than a 6/10 after trying to be more objective.
