his propellers move via gears and teeth kind of a like a pulley system...like someone else said its not as smooth as blackouts propellers scheme. ive noticed that the possibility of transforming him a couple times or more will wear out the peg where you interlock the front nose by his ab to lock in place..... i dont know overall its a nice toy great balance i wish the back kibble in robot mode wasnt so static...you know...
Found him yesterday, and other than the lack of hands and having a tail I absolutely love him! That and he looks great in my Decepticon airforce.
OK, finally got this bad boy. It may be one of my favorite movie toys, if not THE fave. Pros: very solid in both modes Prop-spinny gimmick, while not perfect, is pretty fun 'n' nifty, and works equally well regardless of how you pose the arms. Both modes look great. One of few toys where I like either mode equally well. Retractable landing gear Cons: The burgundy-purple color in robot mode looks a little out of place to me. Might look better on the Takara black version. Kinda fiddly to get all pegs and tabs in place, especially when TF'ing to vehicle mode. big feet and no hands, but y'all knew that already. There's been a lot said about the upside-down engine/rotor pods. It's opinion (moreso after handling it) that it was done so intentionally, for two potential reasons: * The vehicle mode, while obviously based on a V-22 Osprey, is not licensed and listed as such the way other military vehicles like Starscream and Bonecrusher are. As such, Hasbro appear to have introduced some visual differences to avoid a direct copy. * Also, they may have flipped the pods to help the looks of the robot mode, as having the pods flipped (with the intakes/vents on top) means the vents are on the underside of the arms in robot mode (and vice-versa if they were the other way)
Looks like my Incinerator is faulty. This is what I get for finding figures shortly after release, I guess. The blade gimmick is supposed to work A LOT better than mine does (I might get a full rotation after 10-15 pulls of the lever) And it was the last one Walmart had I'm guessing the problem with mine is in the rear section since it still works when I move the arms... Disassembly time! EDIT: Since I said the "R" word and touched the receipt, it seems to be attempting to work. EDIT AGAIN: Found the problem. The gears between the back piece and the arms aren't touching for whatever reason. Further disassembly to come. Third EDIT: Looks like I ended up disabling the gimmick entirely. Also looks like I'll be replacing my Incinerator when I get the chance.
While I like Incinerator he's not appealing to me. I've liked him since I saw him at BotCon, but the AllSpark blue is just...not...right. His shoulders would look much better with the paint apps from the box, but all blue is just FAR too much.
The gimmick is pain. I think I stripped the gears...after one or two pulls, it gets jammed... Overall, it could have been better. Not a bad figure, but definitely not worth the hunt.
I just got my Takara black painted version today. To quote Lennox: "This thing's wicked!" The black is really intense, if that makes sense. It seems to go better with the Allspark blue and the purple. For some reason, black Incinerator just seems pretty intimidating. As a figure I really like Incinerator. Decent gimmick, and a nifty Automorph. I'll have to wait until my brother gets the regular U.S. release before I can compare the two in person, but so far it seems like the black Incinerator is more eye-catching. Definitely worth the $40 or so it cost to import.
Saw Incinerator in the flesh (plastic?) at Wal-mart on my way into work tonight, didn't blow my socks off. I can see why people dig him, just wasn't enough to get me to spend money from my Animated pool right now.
Picked him up.. loved the alt mode, bot mode was ok initially then a couple parts on the legs were super loose and the back part of the copter that touches the ground makes him hunch over so going back in the box and back to wallys... They will make some happy but I've become much too finicky about figures..
I got a question. How do you lock in those knee pads in bot mode? Is the visor suppose to be a visor? Box art looks different.
my left one locked and i just pushed it in hard.. the other one just flopped around and wouldnt lock.. fail.
They don't lock perfectly, but the knees do lock. look for a little square molded into the outsides of the legs, and fit the tabs on the kneepads into 'em.
Totally badass. + I don't even care it doesn't have hands. It's looks downright deadly with those blades...plus the arms are ridiculously articulated so there's really nowhere those arms can't reach. + The details are very nice. + Love the head sculpt. + The chest Automorph = pure love. Very cool. +Fantastic articulation all around. - The gears on the left arm don't line up very well, so those blades don't spin as well as the one on the right. - The legs can be a pain to transform from Osprey mode. I think I popped off nearly every joint the first time I tried
Ah. I wasn't even paying attention and had mine on the wrong way 'round. He's a great toy though. I wish the propellers spun more for each pull of the radar dish but I'm sure they were limited by their gear structure. Given the joints the gimmick flows through it's kind of amazing it works at all.
