TFTM 07: Deluxe Landmine

I just got ahold of this figure tonight, and it's really awesome.

The vehicle mode has the features of a swiveling roof-mounted gun, and shock suspension. Each of the 4 wheels has an individual spring, so the feature is very well-executed.

Transformation involves two automorphs. When you fold the arms out, the front wheels spring-load compress into the chest area. When you fold down his kneecaps/tail-lights, the grill panels slide down his shins as well.

The robot mode is -incredibly- well-proportioned. He is a very clear humanoid shape with few pieces of vehicle-mode hanging off of him. Also of note, not only do his rear wheels form his heels, but the -front- of his feet have additional small wheels on the buttom. This means he is by design a bot with rollable wheelfeet if you so choose. They're also pretty stable when just standing.

Posability is pretty much every basic joint one would expect. Balljoints throughout his arms at the shoulders, elbows, and wrists, ball/swivelcup hips, knees, ankles, waist swivel, and a balljointed neck. Unfortunately, due to the nature of his design you don't get quite as much crazy neck posability as you might want. As a bonus, he also has posable hands! They open and close, with the 4 fingers as a single piece jointed at the knuckle. He also has a "thumb" jointed on an opposing knuckle. What's really nice is, he can hold his gun by literally just gripping it, and it WORKS.

Paint apps are very drab, but thematically so. Lots of military greengray, some black, and some straight grey. What breaks up this monotony so well are the Allspark Blue detailings. There aren't many, but their locations and use are quite excellent. Especially of note, the ones on his face and shin/rear-of-the-vehicle grille make it look like there's a glowing power source within the parts.

Landmine is a tremendously nice figure. Honestly, getting 4 -individual shock suspensions- on a Deluxe's vehicle mode is almost worth the price alone, his excellent robot mode nonwithstanding.

Tremendously recommended!

Yup, he looks to be a real winner, can't wait to get one myself!

Funny how the non-movie bots seem to have much, much better toys than most of the actual movie cast.

Sounds great. Definitely one of my most wanted molds from the Allspark line. About how big would you say he is? I remember seeing a pic showing that he has supension and he looked...really small compared to the dude's hand.
